If you swap the HDD for an SSD, all of your data still sits safely on your HDD.
Changing the HDD is ludicrously simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_V2cIHUk8s
No, I don't use an old USB modem for Internet access
I'm on EE fibreoptic0 -

If I've swapped the HDD for an SSD - whatever that is - and the HDD has all my data sitting on it, how would I access it?0 -

I had a similar message when I upgraded to Windows 10 because I was using an old version of Kaspersky Internet Security.
Have you upgraded to Kaspersky 2016? If not then it's probably the cause and I suggest you update to a later version.
Well I would check what version I have if I could find it!!!
Can't see it anywhere!!
That has me worried now that my Kaspersky isn't on anymore0 -

You look here Takes around 30 seconds to fit the HDD within.
Integral 120GB P Series 4 SATA III 2.5" SSD Drive for £24.99 is the cheapest option.
Of course you can get a higher capacity SSD.0 -

I would just download the equivalent version from Kaspersky's site. I can't remember when I did this, whether it just activated itself again or if I needed to type in a code.
You might also find when you start up that Kaspersky pops up from time to time, inviting you to upgrade, but I wouldn't wait for that.0 -
Whatever you decide to do, you need to purchase and fit more RAM.
2GB DDR3 1066 MHz PC3 8500 £5.99
Takes a few mins to fit and will improve the performance. But a clean install with do more. SSD even more so.0 -

If Kaspersky is disabled then why is it doing an OS version check ?Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

I had Kaspersky 2013 installed and upgraded to Windows 10. Sadly I didn't screenshot the message but it was very much along the same lines as the OP.
And I saw the same behaviour - Kaspersky 2013 wasn't active, having been disabled, but it did pop up a dialog a couple of times later asking me to upgrade, so sort of process must still have been there.
But the 'not compatible' message only popped up once.0
