Then you should have considered opening a business account. Little point in complaining when you are the one in breach of the terms and conditions.0 -
The only reason the amount is so high is I retired and the lump sum went through the account.0

What breach? They haven't told me of any breach.0

You need to decide whether you are self-employed or retired or semi-retired or whatever.0 -

One thing that I find odd is when I was hanging on earlier, pressing buttons on the phone for various options, an automated voice gave me an account balance, and the total they gave me was about £2000 more than I had in the account.
Maybe someone paid £2000 into your account by mistake; realised the mistake and requested the money back? Perhaps this caused Barclays to look at your account? Alternatively, perhaps you expected £2000 to leave your account but it hasn't because Barclays has frozen your account?
If I was in your position I'd be opening new accounts with a different bank asap.0 -
Why is receiving a lump sum from a pension a "problem", by "turnover" I was referring to the amount of money coming into the account, the majority of which was the pension payment.0

That actually sounds a possibility, I have no idea (if such a payment has been made) where it could have come from, there are no payments of this approximate amount due into my account.0 -
