I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Afternoon All :)

    i can't believe it's been almost a week since i posted!

I haven't done much, just getting back into the routine ready for school.

Today i have been making some lentil 'meat'balls (vegan & GF) for tomorrows dinner. A really yummy recipe http://minimalistbaker.com/easy-lentil-meatballs/

I am hoping to spend a bit fat £0 on food from now until Friday. I have my meal plan and enough food in the house.

I am planning on writing a list of all the things i want to do once i am debt-free. I'll post it here once i have completed it.
I am also going to laminate it and put it in my bedroom as incentive to clear my debt asap.

There are so many things i want to do!
  • I really like that idea! about the list, that is a good idea. This time around I am considering the write yourself a cheque idea as motivation as well

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Since I became debtfree I must admit to not really spending because at the back of my mind I worry that I might end up in debt. If I do spend then it is on small things that I need, which is nice . I did think that when I became debtfree that I would be doing this and that but all I want to do is save money. Which I never dreamt I would be like.x

My 1st thing to do once i become DF is to save a nice amount, and then do all the things i want. I feel like i am 36 and need to do all the things i want to, before i get too old.

The list kind of turned into a 'countries i want to visit' list. So travel is really the only thing.

I'm taking £20 out of my savings today to go to the beach with friends. There are activities going on, so lots to do.

I am taking a packed lunch (making a veggie and tofu yakisoba, recipe here http://thewanderlustkitchen.com/15-minute-easy-yakisoba-noodle-stir-fry/) so i wont have to buy lunch.
  • It is one of those universal law of attraction ideas that is a bit bonkers. You write a cheque for the amount you need/want and put it on your noticeboard or fridge - somewhere you will see it and it will keep you focused, that is my take on it, I think you are meant to see this asking the universe for the money but I like it from the point of view of reminding me what I am aiming for.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Thanks Buffy. I've heard of this before, as i actually have some books by Rhonda Byrne (The Power, The Magic etc) which are about The Law of Attraction (i think).

I bore you all, and i certainly dont want you all to think i am totally mental (well, any more so than you probably do already! :D) but i have recently - in the past year or so-been doing some of the exercises in the books and lots of things have been happening for me.

Anyway, had a great day yesterday, really enjoyed my day out with friends. Didn't get home till about midnight and spent more than i should have. But it was fun. Going to have to transfer some money from my savings into my current account to cover my direct debits this week.

Not spending any money today, not going anywhere or doing anything. It's a hot sunny day, but we are so tired out from our full on day yesterday that we are just going to slob about at home for the day, getting ready to go back to school.

The yakisoba recipe that i made was REALLY good :) And filling too :) I'm pleased with that. i made loads, so have enough for lunch today.

What is everyone else up to today?

    Morning All :)

    September budget time!
I wrote my new budget (well, not 'wrote' but completed my new spreadsheet) on the 29th August so i am just getting ready to fill it in.

I have 3 columns; budgeted, actual and date. Almost every month the budgeted is the same amount for all columns, so its nice and easy to cut and paste it across.

The Tax Credits Office gave me a much reduced payment this week, but i expected that. My oldest son has just turned 16 and is still in FT education. I'll just wait to see if they update it next week.

I love a new month, it's a chance to do better. especially with food!

My son is paying for the gardens to be cut this month. When we moved in a few months ago, it was shoulder height, and it was in the tenancy agreement that i had to sort them out. We have 3 gardens and i have managed to sort out 1 of them. It's taken weeks and lots of blood, sweat and tears. The very back garden, my son wants to build a 'man cave' in, so he has to pay to get that sorted out. The front one is right on the street, so has to look decent. £60 to get all of them strimmed. I don't think that's too bad at all.

For some reason my DD (Direct Debit) for SWW (South West Water) didn't come out as usual on the 1st Sept, so i am going to call them today and pay over the phone.

My ex also hasn't paid his maintenance, so i'll call him and see if he has just forgotten. Money is a sensitive topic between us, and after 13 years he has only JUST (8 months ago) started paying any money towards the children at all. So i don't want to rock the boat!

I am going to spend this weekend cleaning and tidying everything and just getting things done around the house.

What have you all got planned?

Heavy rain here today, but still went out for a walk with DH. We are doing a 12 mile walk in four sections ( only cos we have to walk back the way we came for the car), just completed the second section, it was lovely as nobody else was around. Chippy tea and now bath and pj's. Tomorrow minding DGD for the day, she's three so I will be exhausted by the end of it.x

Heavy rain here too Amber. i am impressed that you still went out for a walk!
We popped into town to get some new shoes for my younger son to go back to school, and it was PACKED! Even with the heavy rain, there were people everywhere!

Have a fun day with your Granddaughter, i hope you aren't too tired out by the end of it!

I really want to start getting into running. I've been saying this for at least a year, but i really want to do a 5K next year...maybe the Race for Life or something.
I feel like i have given up smoking (Aug 2010), given up alcohol (Feb 2016) and now i want to work on my fitness.
I don't like paying for a gym, and really want to start running. I need to get myself a decent pair of trainers and get going.

Not doing much today. The gardener is coming to strim the gardens at 9am...i hope i dont annoy my neighbours by starting that early :o

Not buying any food or drinks, sticking to the meal plan, the usual stuff.

Hoping to complete my £1K emergency fund by the end of this month :T
