Afternoon
Cutting back on the unhealthy food/snacks seems to be going well so far..but then its only been a few days. I came close to getting some chocolate last night, but i held out. Pleased about that today.
We've all gained a little weight recently, so I'm on a mission to get us all more healthy.
I was thinking that today was going to be a NSD, but i am craving broccoli and nothing else is hitting the spot. Plus, i need bread. I think i'll get 2 loaves of bread and put them both in the freezer, then we can just take them out when we need them.0 -
Well done on cutting back the snacks. We have a massive stash left over from xmas, im a total chocoholic and we've probably still got enough to last until June!!
The kids will definitely survive i wouldnt worry.
Well done on the debt repayments, that's fab!!
Im also trying to lose a few lbs, about a stone ideally.Still here..... but working on that!0 -
It is hard having kids about who only see some things as snacks. My son has a thing about frozen raspberries. Healthy choice maybe but the bags cost £2 a pop & he would eat one a day if he had his way." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I blame Cbeebies. Kids were happy with apples and oranges in my day :rotfl: now with Mr Grow and his sodding dancing exotic fruits:T" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning!
Bob, my son devours the frozen mango at £2 a bag too, i agree its expensive!
LSD- my kids like those pomegranate seeds too. I have tried saving money and just buying a whole pomegranate and getting the seeds out, my jee it takes forever, and makes such a mess!
I paid off £200 on my CC yesterday. I have a competition with a friends of mine. We both have the same amount of debt and our aim is to pay it all off my 31st Dec 2017. Whoever loses, has to pay £20 to a member of our group, as a random act of kindness. I am determined to win!
I failed last night and spent £10, £4 of that was on junk food (chocolate, crisps, as well as broccoli and fruit). Oh well, onwards and upwards.0 -
Afternoon All
Had an NSD yesterday! :j
I spent the morning at my volunteer place. It was my 1st day and i enjoyed it. It's only going to be for 1 morning a week, but they will work around my sons appointments.
I'm really struggling to resist the urge to go food shopping today. And i have no idea why. I don't need anything, i have all the food that i need. I really want to get to the bottom of this and am not sure why i feel this urge to food shop whenever my cupboards are not full. Just because they are not full, doesn't mean they are empty and we will starve!
I've got £15 left of my weekly food shopping money, which is until Friday. I would like to spend absolutely NOTHING on food until Friday, and have that £15 left. This is such a challenge! But i really want to do it.0 -
That's so funny about the mango. It makes me feel better that I don't have a pampered prince on my hands
I did laugh to myself at an overheard the other day. Was sitting with the baby close to some people with a toddler and the mum (who seemed lovely) said to the child ' you can't eat Avacado when you are in a tizzy' It made me snort, as when did Avocado become a super food anyway that you can't pick up a recipe book without tripping over, and I don't blame the toddler being in a rage having to eat that slippery stuff plain as a snack. Bleu!
It's not black Monday is it? Or blue Monday? Whichever one they write about in the media. Supposed to be the time since Xmas plus date most people get their credit card bill or aomething. Just thinking if the group think is all about treats and needing a boost that might be triggering your response to shop. Ah who knows." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning All
I am so pleased that i managed to make last weeks food budget actually last all week. That's the first week in months that I've managed to do that. I've been getting a lot of help and support with it from the GC thread over on the OS board.
Onto this week. I've spent £60 on food already and i have no idea what i spent it on!
So i have £40 to last until next Friday. That's ok, i still have plenty of food left in the pantry/freezer/fridge/cupboards.
In regards to debt, I've managed to pay off a huge £511 this month! I wont be able to pay off this much every month, i just so happened to get some extra income in the form of child maintenance, a refund of something i bought, and i sold my hair straightners.
So my debt now stand at about £6247.890
