I have similar sinking funds as you only I have one for clothing which I put £5 a week away which is for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys and health one which I put £10 a month away as I wear glasses. Can I ask do you use separate savings accounts or save them all in one savings account?EFC #185 - £510.00/£1000

Hi LABMUMI have 1 account that i save them all in. Then i use an excel spreadsheet to keep track of how much is in each category.
I used to do it with pen and paper, which is just as easy,so if you aren't keen on using excel then pen and paper is just fine.0 -
Afternoon All
I feel like a very lucky girl today. I went to see my Dad this morning and he sent me home with a TV, TV stand, Sound Bar, DVD recorder and Amazon Kindle Fire!
That has saved me a fortune. I'm so pleased, and thinking of a way to thank him properly. I think i might take him out to lunch in the New Year.
I've already filled my Amazon basket with stuff for the house, so my home maintenance fund is going to be almost empty by the end of next week. That is OK though, that is what the fund is for. I have no light fittings at all throughout the house, despite moving in 5 months agoSo i will be buying 4 new ones, and a lamp. I am hoping these are the sort that work with existing basic light pendants.

I know, i feel very lucky.
I have no idea what a DVD recorder does though..it either records ONTO DVDs from TV, or it records a DVD that you watch onto the hard drive?
I am not technological at all!0 -
