Just stay safe (DONT say yes to collections!) and be prepared for the 'emails' you will receive during listing periods. Don't feel you have to reply, but it helps if you do. I generally find 'foot' people to be quite polite and pleasant though :rotfl:
If anyone wants to try, happy to offer the few tips I've gleaned while giving it a little go.
I wouldn't mind some tips on shoe selling! I can't see why anyone wold want to buy my grotty used shoes but I'll give anything a go once!
I made a little bit on ebay this weekend so that's another £27.05 to add to my total. Also I'm still waiting for £60 of Amazon vouchers I'm due for some market research I did that finished on 5/08. I thought they would have sent them by now. Has anyone done something like this before? Any idea on time frame?0 -
What shoes are they you're selling? Do they have a recognisable brand name such as converse or a sports brand? I sell a lot on eBay and rely on taking excellent pictures and putting in good titles and descriptions to make my sales, it goes against my money saving morals but i put everything i sell up at a 10% price hike and with good photos people will generally buy. (I even bought myself a mini studio, cost £20 from ebay)Documenting my journey from full time support worker to full time eBay reseller0

be ruthless! keep the mantra..... have I worn it/used it/read it/etc in the last 6 months and will I be reading/wearing/using it in the next 6 months? if the answer is no have boxes/bags ready. mark them ebay/car boot / selling /recycling/ charity shop.
then go for it. once you have your appropriate bag/boxes filled, take them out of that room so you are not tempted to go back in again for that item....
charity take straight down to charity shop or charity recycling. once it's out of the house it's gone.
recycling get on the relevant sites get your price and get labels printed/sent. package stuff up for posting. it's gone when you have labels.
then sit down and try to list 5 items on eaby/anazon/Facebook selling page etc and do the same next day. I find breaking it up in chunks helps.
then keep going back and admiring your lovely clean decluttered wardrobe and show everyone that comes to.the house and who lives in the house. this is a reminder of how you want it to stay.
then ignore the pile for carbooot/ebay until.the appropriate time to list /go car boot etc.
did it to DS today. made him empty a box of books in his room I know for a fact he doesn't read anymore and won't. I will check where best to sell them.
I do say money made from selling his books he can have for his new books which we buy cheaply of amazon. he is happy with that
hope this helps a little.
Better than a little, it helps a great deal, Aesop:T:T:T:T
Brilliant summary of the best way to tackle a very off-putting job. Thanks a million for taking the time and trouble to do that post, especially as time is in very short supply for you at the moment. You're a total star:A:A:A
I also think it helps to 'do' one small area at a time, such as one cupboard or a part of a room. In rare (very rare:o) bouts of enthusiasm I've had several areas of the house being decluttered at the same time. The chaotic mess of stuff being unearthed from too many places at once is daunting and because time runs out before the room is needed again a lot of it get shoved back out of sight:eek:. Lots of time and energy being wasted. The job needs to be started and finished in one go, then move on to the next area and complete that bit.0 -

I have the seller account but don't use a smartphone:(
As far as 'selling' on Amazon goes I've run into a very dry spell. No-one seems to be buying books at the moment, at least not the ones I'm selling:(. I don't sell much else on there.0 -

thanks CBC and you are absolutely right. first thing I forgot to say is only tackle one cupboard/drawer/ room at a time. and try to allocate time for doing it so you aren't left with things everywhere and have to put it all back.
I did DH cupboard today and decided to throw away the hair clippers I hate using where the charger wire is broken. I know I could get a new one but I hate shaving DH's hair and he can get it cut for £5 down the road.
So he now has a nice tidy cupboard we can see what is in it and I also filed all his self assessment stuff including bank statements. I am loving having a tidy house with a place for everything! and I can easily put my hands on things I need!0 -
