Let the games begin! I have serious issues with my agent, the landlord, and environmental health. There is an order for completed works, that have NOT been done. Environmental health will return to my home tomorrow. Our local MP is now involved. Why is everything such a fight? If any of you can point out another thread like this, then please do. As I am a newbie here.

To be honest, if both environmental health and your local MP are now involved it sounds like you've already escalated things as far as they can go.
Are other things all in order like the gas certificate, deposit protected etc?0 -

The easiest way to resolve this is... move.0 -

The boiler was condemned. New one installed. The electrical inspection!!! We had no earth! Place needs rewiring. Landlady will have to do this, we were told. We had a leaking roof, replaced 19 months ago.. So many ceilings were damaged and have NEVER been replaced. The leaking roof caused damp and mould, that is why the agent advised us to contact Environmental health. The Land lady just wont release funds for essential repairs. She dismisses previous issues, and only concentrates on Gas and electrics now. We have not long been passed to an agent, so we are tied into this contract. The agent promised that he would get the repairs done, when we first signed. Little did he know, or us, had bad things were. So the landlady, having paid out for a new boiler, and having to pay for electrical rewiring, claims she cannot afford anything more. I really don't know what will happen tomorrow. Do we have to wait until the ceilings fall down? I just want the mould gone before winter, hence contacting the MP. Environmental health were also more interested in the Gas and electrics. But they did order some works to be done about the mould. But, NOTHING has.

Sounds like a lot of VERY good reasons to move.
What's stopping you?0 -

Your opening post could only go one way.
In general, you will get members helping whoever posts a thread whether they be tenant, landlord, lodger etc etc.
The only thing I don't like to give advice on is tenants that post about how to take their landlords for thousands because he protected their deposit a day late.
There are plenty who will(help), so no one loses out.Tipsntreats wrote: »Do we have to wait until the ceilings fall down?
Are you still within your fixed term of the tenancy?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

I'm both a landlord and a lodger: Does that mean I'm even lower in your estimation than a plain & simple landlord?
As an ex-tenant I probably don't qualify for this thread either. OTOH ex-tenants may still have a deposit to get back etc. so perhaps they should be "allowed" in0 -
Great thread - not.
But I'm keeping my hands as far from the keyboard as I can (not far as you can see). I've already had my hand slapped once today by the powers that be. Guess that's what comes of being an evil landlord with a sense of humour!0
