£100 or more each month is a lot to find out of your tight budget. Does your DH take an interest in the finances or does he leave it all to you? Presumably something will have to go to find the difference in rent and the usual thing is disposable income for food or entertainment etc which you already struggle to keep in budget. I guess the fuel costs won't increase though if you stay in the same area.

As with TOPM the only way you can improve the situation is more income given you have already pared expenditure down as far as you can go. Keep applying for jobs or working on your business.

    Morning,

I have an online shop but to be honest it's awful and coming to the end. I've been applying for loads of jobs even ones I don't want and just don't hear back.

Our monthly outgoings will go up by at least £200 and we will need 5k in savings. I really don't know how we are going to manage it.

My dh leaves the finances to me. His journey would be over 2 hours each way if we moved. He has to do shifts as it's part of his job.

    Morning,

I think I have an interview for a job I want!!!! They left me a message to call back which I did but they didn't answer. I'm asssuming they wouldn't ring to let me know I've been unsuccessful?! I'm hoping it's good news! Even if I don't get the job I'm happy I got an interview ? If I did)! The money isn't great but better than nothing and if I got it the experience would be great as is in an area I want to go into!
  • Oooh exciting. Hope it is what you think.

    Thanks everyone.

I have spoken to them and they had lots of applicants so wanted to meet me for an informal chat... which I have already had. The job, hours and people all seem perfect. I'll find out next week if I get an official interview but pleased I got to meet them. I think it went well but who knows!
  • A great first step. Well done. Keep us informed.
