Forgot to ask earlier - is anyone having trouble finding the free with purchase TD wipes? Blackpool haven't had any since they went free - surely it defeats the object of a free gift if they haven't got them!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Apologies in advance if I've missed this earlier in this or earlier huge Boots threads. Am I right in thinking Boots are doing 10% off with Advantage Card for the over-sixties and if so, do you have to sign up somewhere?
My Mum hadn't registered her card online so I've done it for her and signed her up for the health club, etc. (She wanted me to sign her up for the parenting club for a laugh but I balked at the fibbing!) Anyway, I couldn't see a box to tick for over 60s - does it automatically register when you put in the date of birth?
If it does automatically register a 'senior' does that mean that it will flash up on the till so that it will be obvious that I'm using her card at the moment (sincerely hope it will be evident to SAs that I am not over 60 whatever the potential saving!)
As previously posted, I've lost my card and due to a bit of a saga will have to wait another three weeks on top of the four I've already waited for its replacement. I know I can still get my points with validated receipts but I'm missing out on ACM vouchers - hence borrowing the card! I don't want poor old Mum to be stripped of her card though because I'm clearly (I hope!) not a senior! However, I'd like her to be able to get the 10% (if it is on offer) when I give it back - not least because she can also buy things for me!
I am not sure if it registers when you put in the date of birth or not but when I signed up for the Health Club, the next time I visited the AC machine it told me to print a voucher and take it to the checkout to be scanned and activated.
I took it to the photo counter and the girl wasn't very sure what to do so asked for help. She was told to scan a laminated sheet and that would be it. What she wasn't told was that one side was for over 60's and the other for under 60's and luckily for me she scanned the over 60's side (I am only 39 and hopefully I don't look 60 yet).
It means you get 10% off all Boots branded stuff - not everything. Every time I go to the till with my card, when they put it in and the total comes down by 10% I am always honest and say that I think someon scanned the wrong barcode or something and they always just laugh except the odd one or two who have asked if it is my card.
The only problem is I don't have the nerve to use the pregnancy vouchers any more so have "unsubsribed" from that club. Might look a bit odd at being over 60 and pregnant.0 -

That happens all the time, thought it is usually the fault of the card reader not the card. Sometimes the chip on the card needs to be cleaned, so ask the SA to rub it and try again. If that doesn't work ask her to try it in a different till/card reader. If it still doesn't work then your card is faulty
At least she gave it back so you can try it again, sometimes the till tells us to put the cards in our till drawer to be cut up at closing time and to tell the customer to phone the AC helpline on the back of the receipt.0 -
