Also if you know the things were reduced why ask for them to be scanned?...To purposefully rub the SAs nose in it?
I didn't want to get to the till then find they were full price and look like this:rotfl: :rotfl:
It also makes the nice young SAs on the main tills jobs a bit harder if they have to put them all back when i say i don't want them!I heart The Capital0 -
Don't know whether this is national but in our Boots today the Johnsons wipes 4x64's had gone up to £5, got my nice SA to check for me as there wasn't a price underneath. They are exactly the same ones I was getting for £2.39 last week
Oh well I did get quite a few!

It is utterly inexcusable to be rude about customers in their hearing just as it is utterly inexcusable to be rude to SAs. However, I haven't heard anything from anyone here to suggest that they were rude to SAs, simply asking for the service to which they are entitled and which the SAs are paid to provide. Yes, retail isn't that well paid, yes, some retailers probably don't offer the terms and conditions that they should. However, that should not affect the way customers are treated when they make perfectly reasonable requests. If you have a problem with your conditions of work take it up with your management or union.
Where does it say that we, as customers, shouldn't try to get the best deal? Where does it say that the retailer's staff should benefit from deals ahead of customers? Boots, and therefore its staff, is benefiting from the loyal Bootsers who might be playing the system to their advantage, but are also spending a hell of a lot of money they could spend elsewhere in Boots.
I go out of my way to be friendly and chatty to SAs and by and large get a good response, but not always. The truth is that most of us spend the week doing a hard day's work with a whole pile of frustrations and cr*p which we have to rise above - in the workplace or the household. Unfortunately that's the real world for all of us. I've worked all hours this week and I didn't get a lunch break today or any day this week. I don't expect anyone to feel sorry for me but I really don't need an SA with a strop on because they didn't get their break taking it out on me when I'm trying to pick up a few things on my way home.
Tonight I popped into a retailer and was trying to buy a jumper. I waited politely for 5 minutes or so at the till but eventually had to ask if anyone (of the three SAs hanging around) was available to serve me. The SA who came to the till said 'I'm in a really bad mood today'!?! I'm really, really sorry but I just don't care. I'm paid to do my job and I do it. You're paid to do your job so do it.
Sorry if that seems a bit hard!0 -
The point I was making is that judging by some posts made here, some people seem to go out of their way to rub SAs noses in the fact that they got better bargains etc than the SA. If you got a bargain, good for you but there is no need to be spiteful about it, just as there is no need for SAs to be rude about customers. But sometimes due to the fact that they are human people say things that are overheard, when if they want to rant they should wait until their break to do it.
Also I have no problems I need to bring up with my manager as Boots are actually good to work for. The only reason I mentioned breaks is to try to explain why some SAs are generally not that pleased for you to gloat about your bargains as they aren't allowed to purchase any until breaktime when most items are already sold.
Personally when I serve people with their overflowing baskets I laugh and tell them I'm jealous, but in a good natured way.
Jimsmum I don't know what you're getting at when you say "If boots staff actually listened in their meetings , spoke to their managers or read a notice board in the staff room then maybe they would get some bargains too  ". Sale notices aren't posted in staff rooms etc and as I work on CPUs, I only know what things are on sale when customers bring them to me to pay. I am in no way unable to listen. Maybe if I worked in a different department I would be told of sale items, but I don't. Sometimes I find out about things on this board like everyone else eg. the £40 cameras.
Speaking of reductions etc like the £40 cameras a while ago, Boots head office staff frequent this thread just as often as those who post in it. So everything that is a secret glitch is actually planned by head office in advance.0 -
I noticed there hasn't been any mention of the Breast Cancer Care products but they're on 3 for 2 and 15% goes to charity!

I love these key charms.. are they 3 for 2 instore or just online?0 -
I do love boots though , i hate them sometimes too
I don't like the older SAs, they allways seem to get funny when i'm buying bargains, take for instance when i asked how much the purfume with the big red stickers on were ??
Me "can you tell me how much they are please?"
SA "well it says £10 on it so how much do you think it is?" (sarcastically)
Me " a quid maybe"
SA "and what gives you the impression it £1?"
Me "scan it and see, im phsycic you see!!"
SA scans it and it comes up as £1 :rotfl: looks like this  then says
"ummmm i think that is wrong"
Me "i don't, can i have them all please" (pointing to all with red stickers!)
SA " i'll just get my manager"
Manager comes over says yep thats right, give the girl what she wants!!! then walks away.
SA "it's not very fair that the staff havn't got any of these you know"
Me "what do i care love, could you put them in my basket, thanks"
I then walk away with a big cheesy grin, leaving crabby SA stood gossiping and scanning others that are not reduced!!!! love it :T
I hate to criticise anyone that works all day and tbh most of the SA's at my local Boots are very nice but ( isn't there always a but ) there are a couple that really cannot be nice and do not even try in fact they go out of their way to be nasty, one in particular hates me I'm sure and I have indeed complained about her. I had to ask the price on a red stickered item last week and she also had the it is the price it says's attitude, but she went a step further and price checked it for me and told me it was stickered at correct price, so I said well I'll have it anyway I was purchasing a couple of 50 No 7 Nail Polishes as well any way she served with a face that could have turned me to stone and the price seemed cheap at the end, when I looked at the receipt the item she had price checked for me was further reduced and actually came out at 0.10p, I think she must have seen this when she price checked. I was going to complain about her again but my little one was restless so I let it drop but I was so vexed.0 -
I was reading on HDUK that the new voucher offer is spend £10 in store and receive a £5 off selected fragrance voucher, valid til 27th October.
The fragrance brands are: Davidoff, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy.
Hope this helps!
Would be great to find a reduced/clearance perfume in these brands and use the voucher on top0 -

Who? Which post?
As far as I can see these posts are simply sharing deals between customers which is what this forum is for. And, as I said, aren't deals for the benefit of the customers rather than staff? Are you saying that SAs should have priority?
I can't trot off and get deals from Boots during my working hours and neither can you. When you're off the clock you have the same chance as anyone else. What's unfair about that?0
