Ok chaps and chapesses, let's get practical. The solution is to buy a goat, and thereby mitigate potential damages. At the vendor's expense of course.

    I've been Money Tipped!
An elephant would be better 'cos then you can sell the manure to Bill Oddie to assist in his quest to deter his neighbour's cat from killing wild birds in the garden and that income will pay for a gardener.

    That way everyone's happy!

Goats don't graze grass. You want a cow or a sheep for that.

I bought a house with a large south facing garden in September 2015. I was concerned about the size of the garden during the buying process, so I asked the vendor how much maintenance was necessary. She said just mow the lawn once a fortnight and the rest looks after itself. Pleased with this, I continued and bought the house. Now, in July 2016, having had an expert gardener round, I discover the lawn needs mowing every week and I'm having to spend every weekend pulling weeds up and taking lawn cuttings to the tip. As I bought the house less than 12 months ago, what compensation claim from the vendor because the vendor lied? Can I make her pay for a gardener?

This is a joke thread surely if not,I better hope I can get compensation for the car I purchased as they failed to inform me that I would have to visit a petrol station more than once a month and that it needs cleaning on a regular basis.:):)

I think the very first reply had it.

Look through the OP's previous posts. A year ago, he was an expert on Japanese Knotweed. Since then, he's been an expert on rooting compound and tree planting.

An expert on Japanese Knotweed? I thought the Forums already had one of those..... ;)
  • It depends on the vendor, of course. Some vendors, on receipt of your claim, would helpfully send round a lorry load of wet concrete and deposit it on your garden. Problem solved! (Permanently solved if you happened to be in your garden at the time...)
