Very disappointing that no-one on here has tried to blame Brexit for this change. It seems to get blamed for everything else. Come on people, you can do better!

No, they just blame Brexit for getting 12% less for their money when they use their Clarity card abroad.
  • 3 each and 1 joint. Got it?

I always thought a couple could only hold three of the same accounts between - a joint and a single each ?

3 and 1 would mean 14 direct debits as well as the minimum monthly funding criteria x 7 ?

    My letter arrived today...

Going to utilise it till September then it will be used solely for overseas transactions only, will reside in the back of my passport..

Ditto me. Really pleased to have banked the roughly £300 since January 2012 but just going to reduce the limit and keep it in the drawer. Also am moving my current account to the Co-Operative to benefit from their cashback incentive and only slightly smaller monthly incentive than my Halifax current account.

    Why not have both?

I received my notification the other week - disappointing but not the end of the world.

I've had the card for a number of years and over time used it less as my spending habits changed.

As I have the card for so long - it wasn't contactless - but Halifax have just sent me a new contactless one today.

Ironically, this would have meant that spending on the card would have dramatically increased.. if not for the withdrawal of the £5 incentive..

I will just use my other contactless cards as I have been doing - the only benefit to the card now is the occasional Cashback Extra voucher I may find useful

I have to close the Halifax current account as part of the full switch. Although if there's a way to avoid that while still gaining the £150 from CoOperative plus the TopCashback incentive it would be good to know.

Open another account, either at Halifax or elsewhere, add some DDs, and switch that one instead.

I've had a Clarity card for years and find it very useful and love the £5 per month reward. What would be the problem with closing my existing account down and then next day applying for another and keeping the £5 reward for new customers only? I can't see on Halifax's website any place which refers to the £5 reward being available for new customers though.

They scrapped it for new customers in June.
