This is always quoted wrong:
Who qualifies for the £5/month Clarity card reward?
You must...
Hold a Halifax current account and pay in £1,000 or more each month; or use Halifax's switching service to move your current account to a Halifax current account and agree to pay in £1,000 or more each month; or open or hold a Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account (no minimum pay-in required)
Spend at least £300 on the Clarity credit card each month
Halifax reward is £750 a month:

No it is always quoted correctly, It is people's level of comprehension that is lacking .This is always quoted wrong:

Must be me, thinking about the reward on the current account.0 -
Lets hope the current account reward doesn't go the same way - DW and I would miss £420 pa

I have made a note to stop using my Clarity card at the end of September. I will use another card that pays cashback. It is not as good as the Clarity £5 but better than nothing.
Halifax is penalising its most loyal customers first which seems a bit odd. I am looking at closing my Halifax current account too.0 -
I don't really see them penalising anyone, they have had to make a business decision which is viable to them.
I think it's a sign of the future.
All rewards and perks cost money to companies and if they are not cost efficient anymore, they will discontinue.
With all the different claims and complaints etc. that have been around over the years, they appear to be good for us, the consumer at the time. However, they do have an impact for the future on all products I feel.
Eventually, all companies will make changes to recoup their losses.0 -
I have always used this card for the no loading overseas transactions. If I tripped the £5 then that was a bonus.0

Removing the £5 bonus for longstanding customers first is a slap in the face. I'll keep the card, but will not spend on it unless there's a cashback offer or saving on foreign exchange fees that I can't get elsewhere. Will probably open a Nationwide select card which offers cashback, 12 months 0%, and fee free foreign purchases, although not ATM withdrawals.0
