Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Maybe so. SG hadn't thought of it it that way.

Well. Since first thing yesterday and just now I've had four business enquiries. All for birthday parties. Of that only one was a day I could offer. I managed to offer an alternative to one and had quite a good dialogue. I know one came through a website I have the place on but the others are all from seeing flyers! Which just reminds me that it is so important for a business like mine to be out there and visible at all times. Given I have paid a few £s for library printing costs the rest is free juat my time in walking up and down.

    It's quite exciting really.

Morning Bob, and I hope 2017 is a great year for you!

    Honesty always pays:)

Didn't work for me though - last time we went for a meal on Tesco vouchers, the waiter added an extra token onto our bill, so the bill was £20 lower than we were expecting. We could have just walked away but It felt wrong to ignore it as it would probably effect the tips they got paid. So I told him and he brought a new bill. Would have been nice to be offered a voucher or free drink or something, but no. And not even a word of thanks.:( For a moment I did wish that I hadn't bothered, but then thought I just won't go there again. Their loss not mine :)

Thank you NOA. In your situation I'd imagine it wasn't the business owner you were dealing with. I'd have been beside myself if my till was down £20. You are right a round of drinks to say thanks for your honesty was well in order.

Wow am now up to 6 enquiries since yesterday! Had two in the space of an hour tonight. It's incredible.
Of the 6 at the moment 3 are possible. And I'd probably feel confident of one being likely to convert.

I have had to send a chaser to two people today asking them to confirm or move on. But with this level of enquiries coming in I'm feeling a lot more confident if they are going to drop out.

Also managed to pay off another £50 today so that's £110 on top of my min payment of £30 now since Jan payday.

    Morning All

Well the bad news hit the fan before 9am this morning. One of my big bookings has just pulled out for Jan. Long story short, they can't afford it. In terms of damage done, at this point it frees up a weekend, which with the level of enquiries I could quite well fill. But I doubt I will fill the week days. Plus it's annoying that a person's word is not as good as their bond. But I do endeavour to do business in a way that is human and fair. I don't think you can stick a pen and contract under someone's nose the second they give you the thumbs up, unless you want to become an estate agent. So yet again I am left holding the baby. Hummm just reading that back it sounds rather mixed messages. Am I cross and worried or not?

Pluses for the situation at hand.
    1. I don't have rent to pay this month or next.
    2. Enquiries are strong at the moment, and business pre christmas was going well too. So you have to have some confidence don't you.
    3. Having had a conversation with OH last night it appears we do have more in savings than I thought.
    4. It's better to know now rather than a few days ahead. At least now I can work on filling that revenue gap.

    Negatives
    1. Just 'lost' £400 on paper
    2. It's January. A lot of people are broke, is it going to be lots of enquiries but no bookings?
    3. I have an £800 accountants bill to pay in early March.....

Well I will get off my bottom today and get out leafletting again. Will pick a different area and get that going too.

Let's see what I can do today!

    Bob

Oh what a pain! I find it difficult to believe they couldn't have known that before now, but what can you do?!

Fingers crossed the new enquiries slot in to those times and all is well again :)
