Good morning All
Happy new year's all around! Kirstypoos Huggle tips hat
Well what do ya know, shake the tree, a monkey falls out. £100 shiny pounds better off this morning. In my head using my finest mental arthimetic, I have decided £60 is going going to the CC. It didn't get included in Christmas craziness but I also need some of it towards my humungus energy bill for December.
The morning has whipped by. Just got back from an hours round trip on the bike. Pedal power got me there and back again. I had to get some paperwork delivered so that's saved the postal costs. I also collected some supplies from the business as I remembered they were in the cupboard. Saved a few P from the shopping bill.
Going to make a chilli for dinner tonight. Feels very weird to be cooking food again!
OH rang the rellies this morning to check everyone were well. Their NYE was way wilder than ours.
Popping out again for some mince. I will mince back shortly.

Well SG never one to disappoint, I was just heading on here to post about my chilli. And so
Tonight's meal I did with potato wedges and salad, allowing two small potatoes each, chopped into 4 slices.
The main event was 250g beef mince, some home made turkey stock, a can of red kidney beans, a few old carrots, the cooked onions used to stuff the turkey cavity, and the stuffing from the same. Pasatta, half a spring onion on top, and a couple of sneaky handfuls of oats. Seasoned with cumin and a tiny amount of cayenne (split a tiny amount out for DD before adding those) topped finally with a handful of grated gruyère & a dollop of sour cream.
OH was stuffed after his.
We are out of my sons preferred breakfast of cream crackers, so OH made up some batter for pancakes in the morning. Really looking forward to those.
Have enough mince left to do a Shepard's pie tommorow night.

Thanks SG. It's got to be a week night meal in so many houses up and down the country, but everyone can put their own spin on things." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi All
A short update today as I'm still feeling very tired from the flu, and I plan on an early night.
We managed to take down the christmas decorations today, just the tree to take back out to the garden tommorow. The day was pretty cheap. Took sandwiches and coffee out to the park in the morning then son and husband went swimming in the afternoon. I did more flyering and stopped into Mr S for milk and cream crackers (80p)
Made a Shepard's Pie for dinner which used the other half of the mince from yesterday padded out with lots of veggies.
I did have to walk back up to Mr T when I realised we were down to our last loo roll. Whilst there found 9 loo rolls for £2 which is cheap compared to the usual 4 for £1.75 I get there usually. I also found 2 X 500g pork mince packs, reduced to £1.05 from £3. Each pack will do 2 meals each so very low cost. Also found a trifle for less than half price so got that for dessert as it's one of my husband's favourites. When I paid I found 30p in change in the self service machine. So a nice bonus.
OH has two more days off, so just chilling and enjoying having him home do the rest of of the time.

Well done on the bargains, I've started getting toilet rolls etc. from Home Bargains as much cheaper than T*sco. Your chilli sounded nice yesterday.
Hope you enjoy your last couple of days relaxing and get rid of the flu.
