  • Hi all
So, it's Christmas Eve, and I am finally ready to put my feet up and relax a bit. Washing is all done, the cleaner came yesterday and tidied my house, present wrapping is complete and all I'm waiting for now is for bestie's hubby to bring the meat round later - benefits of having a butcher so close :D
We're going to my mam's later on - she got back from my auntie's yesterday, and I think is going back down on boxing day. We're going out for dinner with her and my stepdad, plus my sister and her family. Whilst I'm looking forward to it, I think it'll be quite a sombre affair, plus I don't have the best of relationships with my family and Christmas.
I will be on more often now I've finally finished school - hope that everyone is well :xmassmile

  • Hi all
Sneaking on now to wish you all a very happy 2018. Another busy week but I’m thoroughly enjoying being off work and getting some time to relax. I’m on my phone so please excuse formatting and spelling.
My cousin’s funeral isn’t until 11 Jan - seems like way too long to wait since he died. Cause of death is officially pneumonia and influenza :(
Also - bad news on the naughty tortie front. She continues to be the most expensive cat in the world. On Christmas Eve, dd asked me about a lump on naughty tortie’s tummy. I made an appointment at the vets for 27th expecting it to be an infected scratch or something, but the vet thinks it’s cancer. I am utterly devastated by this news. We won’t know until tomorrow when she goes back to the vet. She’s having a full mastectomy :( It’s going to be another expensive visit - she’s the only one of my crazy cats that isn’t insured, and it’s always her that gets sick. It’s not about the cost though - I’m way more worried about her quality of life. We won’t know how bad it is until after the op but I definitely don’t want her suffering a long, drawn out and painful death. I love her so much and don’t want to lose her, but if it’s her time.... no answers before tomorrow though.
Anyway, I am determined to catch up on here... hope everyone is well and has had a good festive season xxx
  • Sleep last night - 3 hours 57 mins. I’m shattered but have been worrying lots about naughty tortie. I was very sad dropping her off at the vet this morning. Still 2 hours until I can phone for an update as well.
Busy day today - hairdressers, vet, cleaning. I’ll check in later x
  • Having pets can be such a nightmare. I hope Naughty Tortie is ok.

    Big hugs XXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • A belated merry christmas and happy new year!! I hope you had a good one.

I'm still catching up after struggling with the flu as of late, but how's things?

    How'd the cat get on?

Please let us know how NT got on. Having cats myself I understand and none of mine are insured.

Hi CCL, sorry to hear of your bereavement and also the news regarding naughty tortie, have followed her exploits for some time on here, and know the feeling of having pets that set you back financially. We pet owners always say a pet is part of the family and it's so true. I hope all goes well.
