  • Hi CCL,

My cat has the same problem - she seems a lot better atm but is on antibiotics - she's due another urine check next week - hopefully she is improved and I wish your tortie a speedy recovery.

Glad u had the vet fund :j

I'm pleased DS had a good night Saturday :)
  • Evening all.
Mega quick check in because ds and I are just about to go up to bed and watch Netflix for a couple of hours.
Awful day at work. Just one of those where nothing much has gone right, plus I've had a bit of a cough and sore throat all day so I can't be bothered. I haven't taken ds to football tonight because I just couldn't be bothered with it.
Naughty tortie is doing ok today - she loves her cat morphine and seems loads better. Constant munchies...
More properly tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words. I do love my naughty tortie - even if she's old and expensive (bit like me :p)

  • Gawd I couldn't be bothered when I woke up this morning. Restless night between snotty nose, cough and a sore throat. I'm shattered and can't really be bothered with work at all today, but it has been better than yesterday so far. I have low tolerance for poor behaviour and other rubbish so not the best of moods for teaching but it's gone way better than yesterday. I just need 5pm to tick round so that I can go home, have a shower and go to bed. That's the plan.

Oh no Cat do you take any vitamins out of interest? Just wondering if a big blitz on Vitamin C would help. Sending posh soft tissues virtually.

  • Aw thanks Bob - appreciate it :D I don't take any vitamins actually - I like to think that my diet is balanced enough to deal with it. I just work in a very germ ridden job unfortunately. I hadn't been ill for ages but this is now the third time since Christmas.
Well, today continued to go fine - I didn't manage to get any marking done but did plan next week and I had a good chat with the Head this evening before I came home. The more I talk to him, the more I really like him. We had a few things to discuss - union things plus a couple from me about behaviour, and I needed to get my feedback from when he came to see me with Year 11 last week. He was brilliant, and really supportive, and very complimentary about my teaching as well which I was thrilled about. For the first time in years I actually felt valued by senior staff at the school, which is such a strange feeling for me after working in a culture of blame and fear for such a long time.
I am exhausted tonight though - just batch cooking a load of butternut squash soup from 3x 9p yellow sticker mixes from Mr S. Also have a load of dried kidney beans, which I feel a bit clueless about but I'll find something to do with. There's only so many times you can bung them in a chilli.
Then off to bed to watch Once Upon a Time on Netflix. I'm really late to the party there, but it's good. DS and I watch it together in his room. Current sleeping arrangements are him in his bed, me on the chair bed and I go to my own room once he's asleep. Working well. First night he woke up loads and I ended up on the floor in his room most of the night, but since then it's been once a night for the loo, and I go back in with him for 10 mins until he goes to sleep. I'm hoping for a right-through-the-night very soon...

I hope you feel better soon CCL. And sorry to hear about your lovely cat. My older cat had that over Christmas and pretty much decimated his savings account, but at least I had it there to use I suppose. They're worth it :D

  • Cat - perhaps try Beroca (well we use none branded alternative). It's multivitamins in a tablet that you pop In a glass of water. DH has definitely found it helpful and we eat a very balanced diet.

As for kidney beans, soak whole bag overnight and then cook as per packet instructions. Portion up and freeze, really quick to get out then and use as required and doesn't matter how long it takes to get through them. :D

Glad senior management at school are finalising recognising you :T
