I hope you feel better and manage to get a good night sleep tonight. Tomorrow is the one day of the year which is notorious for being relaxed and enjoyed with family and I hope that be no different for you and you manage to chill.

  • Morning all and Merry Christmas! :xmassign::xmastree:
So, I'm very snotty but doing ok. I was up until after 1am because dd was too excited to sleep, then ds was up for the day not long after 5am. You can imagine I'm not on top form. I'm just about to go back for a nap now but was doing a couple of bits online so decided to pop on here and say Merry Christmas.
Seems to have gone well so far - everyone is happy with their presents, and both kids are now in their rooms watching their new TV's. Happy days. DH has gone back to bed. I'm having a quick cuppa before napping then heading off to my mam's for Christmas dinner...
Hope everyone is having a lovely day and enjoying themselves. Lots of love to all of you.

Merry Christmas CCL, i am visiting my Dad with my OH this year which means I get to be with the two cats I got for my 12th birthday. I also have a naughty tortie-15 years old and she still acts like a kitten!

Merry Christmas Cat! Sorry you are feeling poorly over Xmas. We are also in in that horrible sleep deprived state (see diary) ah well can't be helped. I hope boxing day will be a bit better in that way.

  • Morning all :hello: :coffee:
I'm like the Queen - full of cold, but obviously not headline news. I think (touch wood) I'm over the worst of it judging by how I feel compared to yesterday. But I am still ill/tired, because I'm way more sad than I should be about George Michael. I really liked him when I was younger, and my best friend at school was absolutely mad for him. I just watched an obituary show on the news which was a long show - it's been a bad year for deaths of famous people I like (especially Alan Rickman)...
Operation Christmas went really well and I had the most enjoyable and peaceful Christmas that I can remember for quite a few years. The kids were happy overall with their gifts and I got some wonderful and really thoughtful presents, which I think is now down to dd being a bit older and being able to influence shopping choices a bit more. Bless her. I hope that you all had a fabulous day, whatever you were up to.
Today though, life gets back to 'normal'. DS want to hit the Boxing Day sales. I'm not quite so keen, although I am really toying with the idea of a new sofa. Our living room main sofa is so gorgeous and I love it, but it's 20 years old now and is starting to creak, and the cushions won't go back to 'normal' shape. I've looked into getting it restored, but it will be cheaper overall just to get a new one. I'll see... This sofa is the love of my life, and I don't want to get rid of it, even though it's completely wrecked. DS wants to buy some goalie gloves so we'll be trailing round the sports shops.
DH will be staying home (probably with dd) as there is a full programme of football on (life back to normal) but we are all going out for dinner later - I booked us a table a few weeks ago. I'm quite looking forward to that...
Right. I'll be back later - have a good day everyone

    Hi Cat

Snap on the cold. Why is it as soon as we stop the cold sets in? Rubbish. There seems to be a germ relay in our house of one getting better then the others getting worse.

Hope you get your sofa situation decided on. I'd apply the needs/wants thing if you are ready stuck. Is your sofa on death row or is it just shabby? If you can delay the purchase what does that mean to your family etc. If you can afford and want a new one then go for it if you want to.

Glad you got some nice gifts!

    Bob
