Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 2 - Groundhog Day

Oh I have been in the strangest of moods today, and for the past few days actually. Think it's tiredness, but I feel like I'm on the verge of tears most of the time - the littlest thing seems to tip me over the edge, good or bad. I'm not sure what's what but I just ride the days like this through... I feel so tired that it's really hard to focus on getting much done, and work is hard work this week. The kids are not behaving well and I'm too tired to be able to manage it well unfortunately... I need a bit of motivation. Thankfully we have a long weekend ahead so I just want/need to survive through that.
Just about to take ds to football training and then I suspect I'll be pretty much home and into bed. What an exciting life eh?Not giving up

I know you have a stressful job (and home life) but if it makes you feel any better I am usually in bed by 8.30pm, the other day I was ready for bed and checked the clock and it was only 7.15pm!!
This time of year always throws me and I like to hunker down early on plus if I don't get enough sleep I am a moody mare.
Sleep is good and you need more of it - I know you have Xmas presents to sort but these can be done gradually, take your time and make sure you rest enough.0 -
Oh poor you Cat it's probably stress! I really hope you can find some time for you even a teeny bit." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

CCL - I feel you need a break, which I assume you'll get over Xmas? What about a cheap overnight stay somewhere just to recharge the batteries? Doesn't need to be far away or expensive. Might also allow some alone time for you and your DH?

Hi all
November is notorious in the teaching world for being the worst month of the year. Dark mornings, dark nights, tired kids, tired teachers. I think it is probably a bit of stress. I downloaded a mindfulness app to try and help me out a bit - it's great for winding me down in the evening. Unfortunately I've fallen back into the habit of waking up at 4am and not being able to get back to sleep again until about 10 minutes before I have to get up for the day. My anxiety is bad again as well - I might have to go back to the doctors... She asked me to stop taking my migraine meds to see if it helped with the constant exhaustion. It did, but now I can't sleep through so I'm tired (the tired I'm used to being) and I can't help but wonder if this tiredness is putting me on edge again mood wise. I'm going to keep on with the mindfulness though - even if it doesn't help long term, it really helps in the evening.
I definitely feel as though I need a break - there won't be anything over Christmas though. We've booked to go to Scotland for a week when I have my big birthday next year and money is being saved up for that. A change is as good as a rest though and as long as I don't fall behind on marking then I can make it to Christmas and enjoy a couple of weeks without feeling guilty. Not giving up

I concur.
It is dreadful. Currently ignoring my year eight books and on day five of a migraine!

Bit of a lie in this morning... It was 4.46am when I woke up today :rotfl::rotfl: I am tired, but still going on with the mindfulness. I am utterly exhausted but it's that familiar tired. I was chatting with the pharmacist last night and he thinks I should maybe pop back to the doctors.
My trainer thinks I'm looking better than ever, bless her. She says my skin has really improved and I look like I've lost weight. Which is good, but I need to make sure I get enough sleep so I don't fall off the wagon food wise. I hate food prep and when I get tired I just grab whatever I can, whether it's good or not.
It's so cold this morning that I've already had a load of exercise scraping the car before I even went to training. Not too much other stuff planned for the day - tutoring, bit of food shopping, crochet and knitting. And staying huddled under blankets because it's so blimming cold! Not giving up

Hi CCL I have just read you diary. And I don't think you are crazy at all. I think you are doing an amazing job of coping with an enormous amount of stuff, any one of which would bow an average person. So well done.
I echo what others have said about looking after your health. If you had a major problem, could you honestly say your husband could step up to the plate if you were to fall over?
So yes do the physio, take the time, I do transcription for orthopaedic surgeons, and knee surgery is often non weight bearing for 6 weeks and then another 6 weeks touch weight bearing and then another 12 weeks in a brace ( and no driving all that time). How would your family copy if you HAD to take that much time off from everything. I hope I have scared you enough to take care of your physical health. I don't know how much you weigh, but (really sorry), one of the best things you can do for your knees especially is lose weight. It is something that I hear in lots of the dictations.
Good luck with sorting out you. It will be much easier to sort out everyone else if you are well.
On that note my nearly 13 year old still does to bed at 8.30 lights out at 9 because otherwise he is a little !!!!!!, and when he was younger he was in bed earlier than that. So I am sure even a little more sleep for him will be a benefit. As for you and not sleeping, some meds might well have stuff in them that are 'uppers' for want of a better term. Have you checked that out with the GP? If you don't want to do that then maybe try tart cherry, or melatonin? Both good for getting your sleep cycle back into synch again.
good luck
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

That's great what your trainer says! Glad it's all working for you in that regard. I find it hard not to eat more when tired. It's just biology isn't if, tired = need energy= eat to feel better. The cold and dark make it hard too." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
