I treated the OH to lunch today so £10 added to spends. He usually pays for entertainment stuff but to be fair he has bought milk and bread this week so this should even things out a bit. I have only shopped on Fridays each week of the month so lots of nsd's. This Friday needs to be a big shop to restock but fingers crossed I will still come in under budget as it's the last Friday before we get paid again so shouldn't need anything else. All that clutter used to be money0

I'm wondering if it's cheaper to go to one of my local Indian shops and buy a large tin though, I'll do some research. I've got enough money left to buy in bulk to save more next month, if that makes sense!
Another NSD here :j
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

Spent £1.29 of the remaining £1.30 today on a 6 pint of Milk. We have One whole penny left to last until Saturday :rotfl:
I told my OH that we are not replacing the cheese until the next food delivery comes. He was ok with this. When I said we were going to have to limit the milk he did kick up a fuss at that (he drinks about a pint a day at least, his favourite dessert is cookies and milk, sometimes I swear he's 5 not 35 :rotfl: ) so i gave in and decided to spend the money on a 6 pint of milk. That should last. Maybe if i switch to using yogurt on my weetabix....
Bit annoyed as for the last week I have been trying to get my OH to go through my A Girl Called Jack recipe book and put post id notes on meals he's willing to try (he is a very fussy eater, i would say more so than me even though I don't eat meat) and each day he has said it's not a priority or that he doesn't have time. I am trying to keep within a budget this month and since it is me paying for all the household shopping and I am not working I think saving money on our food shopping is a priority. Grrrr
Watching Eat Well For Less for inspiration. I know a lot of MSE-ers have mixed to negative feelings about this show (I've seen the thread about it :rotfl: ) and yes my monthly budget is around what these families are spending a week, but I have still picked up some good tips from it.
Going to make lasagne for tea which i have calculated is 88p a portion the way I make it. Going to look through my recipe books and the cupboards to see how we are going to get through the rest of the week. Just today, thursday and friday to get through on 1p.
Have decided to do something which I know many will see as high maintenance for the next months shopping. I am doing TWO online shops-One MrT and one MrM. It is because I wanted to get the best deal possible on all my shopping, and I hope I don't have to tell anyone that obviously I went for the £1 delivery options and made sure my savings for each store were much more than that. I don't think I'll make a habit of it. It's just MrM is my favourite store, but MrT is much better and cheaper for tinned pulses, fruit and lentils.
Good luck everyone, not much of the month left. Sorry for rambling :rotfl: XDebt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Thought we done really well this month.... But it's come in at £206.09.
I have now gone over my annual budget, just got to try and keep it as low as possible until the end of the year.
I think I need to update my total as I go along as this month didn't work.
Also need to have more meatless meals. We seem to have meat everyday
Ordered a sack of potatoes for delivery today at £9 so I'm going to look at the recipe index to see what I can make.
February GC £26.68/£2500 -
Ho Hum, managed to miss my target every week this challenge. I think I need to try harder next month especially as my husband has been off work for two weeks this month so his pay will be considerable cut. Well at least the cupboards and freezers are full. I will try having a week where I don't do a big shop and just use up my stores. It will make me think harder about what we are eating too which can only be a good thing.0
