  • Couple of shops and OH bought two lunches since last post. That sees £33.03 more spent. £228.12/£200. £28.12 over budget so far and we still have to get to the 31st yet.
I have meal planned for all of September now. Will talk to OH when he gets home later about September budget but I'm honestly thinking £200 again.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

Town today, got another £25 petrol as creeping up again, but 3/4 tank now, grocery spends which includes a sack of dog food total£27, but still within my grocery budget even if I go Lidl Wednesday to spend my £5 off voucher.
My other spends is where my problems are so will work hard next month to get thay down.
Do I need it or just want it.

Needed to get milk for DS so went to tesco, came away with 8 cartons of milk as they were 2 for £2 and have a long date on them. But also 6 bottles of wine to make use of the 25% off 6 bottles or more and a load of tinned beans and lentils for the cupboard. Total spend £36.42 whoops. So for this month I am now at £323.51/350. Ok for the month but still behind for ytd.

Eta I am going to close out August and start on September now.
  • £51 left for the month after Lidl, been shopping around for the cheapest white fish, I think tescos value frozen is the winner so I'll go back there tomorrow.

not sure if I should keep my groceries separate from my alcohol/eating out/coffee and cake fund.

OH ended up spending £20.62 when he went for veg and some tinned fruit. In fairness it was all decent buys that I can use for the next week.
    I'll up date my signature.
    £36/£240

Declaring £91.05/£100 this month. Will take budget down to £95 for September.

Haven't been restocking store cupboard with beans/lentils so they are running down a bit. Will address that over the next couple of months.

  • Signing off for August now. I'm not unhappy with the way it went for my first month but I need to be clearer about my budgets for food v my budget for alcohol. I have drunk less this month though, just because I was watching the pennies so that can't be bad.

next month I'm trying for £200 for groceries but I've added a 'fun' budget of £160 to cover alcohol, eating out etc. So I may just be kidding myself by playing around with numbers because that is a larger overall budget than this months. Fun is the one I can really cut back on though so I need to keep it separate to keep an eye on it.
Freezer is defrosting, got £40 ish left of the budget so going to Tesco in a bit to buy stuff to put in it.
