Big Lidl shop today and YS raid in Co-op. I'm slightly over budget now. I'm still pleased though as this is the first month I have done the challenge, so £300 was a guess. I've not been too well either, usually I like a daily walk to the shops to pick up YS, but I haven't been able to do this. We shouldn't need to spend much more now for August, and have quite a few items stocked right up.

Since last update did another small shop and OH has bought three lunches for work; Friday, Saturday and today. That sees another £16.05 spent. £195.09/£200. £4.91 left for the month. We are going over I'm sure. However I really had no idea what we were spending before so I think we're doing well considering.
Have meal plan done until 11th September so far. Working on the rest of the month right now. Thinking of putting September budget as £200 as well. Will see.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
I went to asd* for some mice, as the pork would stretch to a second meal, a few slices for some sandwiches and that's it, so we had tacos for tea - spent 11.11 though as they had turkey breast 1kg packs reduced to 3.33 so I bought both of them, I eat a lot of turkey breast so this will get portioned into 15 and that's my diners sorted for half of next month
I also went to Ald* as asda had no smart price porridge so picked up some bread also, and kids ran with me today so they got some sweets so 2.14 spent in there
Leaves me with 28.75 for the month, I'm hoping to be below but I think giving I also guestimated, even thought I know I've been spending about £200-£300 more a month, I'm pleasedGrocery Challenge - Aug 407.97/£320 - NSD 3/5

Did shopping today, went to Iceland for orange juice x 2, apples and celery (£3.34), went to Tesco's for Courgette, Carrots, Bananas, Cucumber, Nectarines and Bread (£4.31) and bought some ibuprofen and hay fever tablets for my OH (£1.67).We have £1.30 to last till Saturday
That means we pretty much can only buy Milk until then.
To be fair our cupboards and freezer are chock a block, we have enough butter, cheese, bread, fruit and veggies now. We are running low on frozen sweetcorn but I bought an emergency back up tin of sweetcorn at the start of the month so we should be fine.
Am going to make a Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner plan for the rest of the week to make sure everything lasts.
It's just as well I've decided to give up coffee/tea for ten days, so that should save the milk.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

I need some stuff but not much, olive oil is the most expensive thing.
I saw my elderly favorite great aunty this week - she lives on £30 a week for everything after bills. She doesn't eat a lot!
Your DGA does well on £30 a week - but there's lots of people on MSE threads that spend less than that per person per week and eat well
Had another NSD today :j
Hope you all have a super Tuesday

I'm wondering if it's cheaper to go to one of my local Indian shops and buy a large tin though, I'll do some research. I've got enough money left to buy in bulk to save more next month, if that makes sense!0 -
I have allowed the purse strings to open a bit wider this month as it is holidays, excluding a meal out on holiday we are at 287.09/350, I have enough in now to see us to the end of the month which should also allow me to catch up ytd.0
