Which of these three laptops would you select ?

The choice is going to depend on what you intend to use it for.
I have a 10.1" Medion laptop.
Since it travels with me a lot, the light weight (a shade under 2lb 14oz) and small size (10.5" x 7.25") count for a lot.0 -
Argos is not the place to buy laptops unless they have deals on - simple as.
In your selection you have a Cloudbook. You are aware it's a different OS from Windows, right?0 -
Original poster back and thanks for your varied and interesting comments.
What is at the back of my mind, is that prior to Windows 10 being released, you could hear the fanfare for miles around. Since it's launch, it seems that Web User have devoted many pages trying to explain or help people that have experienced problems. This leaves me thinking, do I want W10?. but where do i go from there?.
Anyway, there are four more devices that we have narrowed down and wondered if you'd care to take a look please. I know the question "what do you want to use it for?" crops up, but in the main, just general surfing and word type documents would cover it.

Nothing of great value for money there.
Even this Toshiba Satellite L50-C-244 for £229.99 has better spec.0 -

According to the Toshiba website this comes with an i3-4005u and not an i3-5005u so I suspect Argos has screwed up their product description (not for the first time) unless there is a refresh model I'm unaware of. I'd suggest confirming the product description before purchase.

Edited it to fit the model. If the wrong model is sent, it can be returned at Argos's cost.0 -
Toshiba Satellite C70D-C-12U £289.99
17.3" screen to match the laptop being replaced.
Not a recommendation, just another option.0 -

So that is a welcome contribution of comments, thanks. I will digest each of them later, copy and send to son-in- law, but am encouraged by last post by nifty, because of manufacturer and price, but have not looked at spec yet. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
