Which of these three laptops would you select ?

Would any of you laptop buffs care to offer an opinion on each of these three models please?. It might be of course that you know of something similar that is of a better specification,

None of them as they are all underpowered and overpriced.

What do you want to do with the laptop ?

Have a look in the Argos refurb section as you get better value for money there, for example:

If you are going to choose a W8.1 laptop and want W10 you need to make a quick decision to get it before the deadline to upgrade. Otherwise there may be the upgrade cost to consider....

RR, on the Argos refurbs note:

    Product Description

Please note due to the refurbishment process this product may come with a newer version of Microsoft Windows installed.

There are two answers to the question "what do I need it for?".

For myself, I need to replace my acer aspire 9420 vista ultimate which I use for general surfing, no downloading of films, music, video's. The lid has broken.

My son-in-law said that when he returns to the country for 10 days, he too will buy a new laptop and if mine is proving to be satisfactory, he will buy an identical model. However his use may be slightly different as he will use "word" or similar quite a lot and produce things like CV's to print off.

Don't buy a laptop from ARGOS. And certainly don't go paying £249 for a Celeron chip - they are so out of date.
I'm amazed they're even selling those.
I am looking myself at the moment for a new laptop. I know that the chipset has to be at least an AMD 8 or up or an Intel i3 or higher. Modern software will need these new chips.
Search for 'refurbished laptops' on Google or 'refurbished laptops UK'
You'll be presented with a selection of online stores who sell virtually NEW laptops with guarantees and for the money you've quoted here, you'll get a waaaayyy higher spec with the latest chipsets.
Refurbished by the way can mean it has literally been taken out of the box and returned to the store - So they are cleaned up, reboxed, often brand new but sold as second hand!!!!

OP here, I don't have an issue to a degree. When I read user's comment's about a product, irrespective of model, it's off putting when you read "sounds tinny", "poor battery", this and that, so at the end of the day, it's often a case of compromise. I will look at yours in detail and get back to you. thanks.

Perhaps if you prioritise your requirements you might get more relevant recommendations.

I'd assumed price was the biggest factor based on the type of laptops you were enquiring about but if speakers and battery are top of your list, well then....

EDIT: was meant tongue in cheek.

For my money, I recently bought a refurbished Lenovo T420, dual core i5 2.8Ghz and 8GB ram, for around the £200 mark. It's a beast, it replaces my 2004 IBM T41 and that T41 replaced an IBM 700X that actually still works despite being 18 years old.

Buy cheap sh*t and you'll be replacing it within a couple of years.

If you don't need a massive hard drive, this is very quick, as it has an SSD.

At the moment, Lenovo are producing some real quality stuff. My wife is really happy with hers, she loves the Lenovo addons, which help her maintain it.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
