Yes I understand that and as I said I know it's my fault.

But the company HAS the option of more car parking spaces, this is just ridiculous at the minute and because they won't pay the price for the extra spaces employees like me are having to spend £1000.

It's not their fault and I get that, but it shouldn't have had to happen!
There is absolutely no obligation on the company to provide any spaces at all.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I'd maybe try working out how much work time is wasted moving cars, if you're doing it several times a day, with several cars each. Then you can present a business case for them fixing it somehow (it may be cheaper to rent more spaces or even hire a valet for parking). Of course it could backfire and some of you will not be allowed to park, or you'll have to take moving time out of your breaks.
They might even introduce a car sharing or car park share scheme where you're only allowes to park on certain days/weeks etc.

Why not just park in the car park of the building next door, while you're about it?

Hey, OP... Try and get a job at the other company.... clearly they are doing well to pay for all those expensive spaces they aren't using. Perhaps bring this up at the interview and get the other Facilities Manager into la merde in the process.
I need to think of something new here...
  • If people used the spaces rented by the other company that company should engage in talk with your company about their unfair use of them. If your left with a letter on the windscreen asking you not to use, simply go into the companies reception and ask them to take it up with the company and not you, your merely trying to protect you property from damage cause by the cluster FEK that's going on in that car park.
  • Two issues.

    a) You crashed into another vehicle
    b) Your company dosnt have much parking

Seperate issues, stop asking for the answer you want.

You are liable, your employer isnt. End of.
