Next time hit the facilities managers car see how quick you get extra spaces then.

Of course in the old days this was the kind of beef you could get your union to take up ...

There is absolutely no car parking spaces within a mile of the office.

Yes, and? Loads of work places have zero parking.

How on earth do you cause £2k of damage manoeuvring in such a confined space. Did Mr Angry come to town?

2 new bumpers + resprays could come to the fat end of £2k. Especially if there's things like parking sensors to deal with.

OP - you said there's another company that doesn't use all of their bays? Have you tried asking the company direct if you can use one of their empty ones? No on-street parking a bit further away?

    I doubt that.

Not, of course, that that makes much difference - there are other ways to get to the office.

That was my thought when I saw the picture... If they regularly have space available, (left side of picture) I'm surprised you and your colleagues haven't just tried parking in it anyway... Does the landlord clamp people for not being in their own zone? If they did, I'd expect them to clamp the double-parkers too, Plus the red hatchback bottom left which is partly in a handicapped slot - due to the blue BMW being parked across 1 and 1/4 spaces.
I need to think of something new here...

Good point, the bay parking there is terrible and there's obviously no parking restrictions preventing you parking elsewhere.

OP - It might also be worth reversing into that mess of a car park, as you'll be able to manourve in better and it'll be easier to get back out.
  • Yes I understand that and as I said I know it's my fault.

But the company HAS the option of more car parking spaces, this is just ridiculous at the minute and because they won't pay the price for the extra spaces employees like me are having to spend £1000.

It's not their fault and I get that, but it shouldn't have had to happen!

Maybe they can't afford to both pay you and your colleagues and invest in additional parking. You're only going to make that situation worse if you start claiming money off them to compensate for your own parking inadequacies.

Would you be willing to take a pay cut in return for a parking space?

If that had been my work place alot of those vehicles would have been towed away or had a nice large message placed on the windscreen (that leaves the stickiness on your window)

However in this case best to suck it up and maybe location alternative parking spaces
