How much do you pay for water?

We moved into our house in February, this is the first property we have lived in that has water on a meter.

We pay £23 a month for a 3 bed house

I thought this was too good to be true, but we are both out all day 5 days a week

Can I be nosy and ask how much you pay for water and what type of property is that for?

We pay £20 a month for a 3 bed detached.

But we moved from an apartment & thats what our monthly bill was there & we were on a meter, so I think they have just carried it over to the house, we may well get re assessed come next financial year & end up paying differently.

There is 2 of us, only difference is now we have 2 gardens to maintain & facillities to wash our car. So we are using more water.

I remember reading somewhere that if there is less adults than bedrooms then a water meter is normally cheaper.

Thank you, I didn't know that.
We're 2 adults, 1 child, so one of our bedrooms is empty

I pay £37.83/month, not on a meter. This is a 2 bed semi (soon to be 3 bed) with 2 adults and 1 child (soon to be 2 children). After reading what other people are paying I feel a bit robbed :-D

Oh how I wish my water was only as much as you pay OP (and others!). Mine is around £55 a month. This is for a three bedroom semi in the North Wesy (United Utilities are our supplier). We have a wetroom downstairs as well as the family bathroom upstairs. I pay by direct debit (think I get about a fiver a year knocked off) and there are no debts on the account (in case anyone thinks I'm paying arrears off - I'm not).

I live with my two teenage sons, one disabled (hence the wetroom). I don't think we use an excessive amount of water.
  • £40/month via direct debit (we are on a meter) for 4 bed house, two bathrooms, 2 adults, 2 children.
