Im guessing your system has on board graphics and the cheapest way to be able to play minecraft would be to add a suitable graphics card to your system.

The minimum specs from the minecraft site are :-

CPU: Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz. RAM: 2GB. GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics or AMD (formerly ATI) Radeon HD Graphics with OpenGL 2.1. GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 2400 with OpenGL 3.1.

The Radeon can be bought for around a tenner but bear in mind that is the minimum spec so just get the best card you can afford.

    ,

There u go again - please point out where i recommended any purchase whatsoever.
All i have done is discussed the suitability of the suggested machine for the OP's requested usage..

Your claiming that the correct retail price is £100 made the bundle appear good value, when the correct retail price is perhaps £50 less.
That's where it went wrong. Your misinforming of the OP based on a single outlet that sells old tat for £100. Most everywhere else sells it for half that.
You compounded the issue by quoting my reply that the base units cost £50 less, by increasing the font and writing "retail" in bold, as if I somehow misunderstood that we were discussing retail prices.

You see? If you look back, you will see that you began the argument and the insults, simply because I did not concur with your claim of the base unit value of £100.

If I'm wrong, I have no qualms in admitting my mistake and moving on. Certain other characters prefer to argue, thinking they are saving face..

    Look,
You have found a cheaper unit. Congratulations ..

The shop near me sells them for £100 in a bundle , both the links the OP has posted have them at around the £100 mark . If you search ebay and other online stores, the average retail price for that kind of system is £100.

    reference : https://www.google.co.uk/#tbm=shop&q=refurbished+dell+optiplex

Of course you can get them cheaper . That goes for most things.
At the time i posted, i estimated the value on everything that i had seen up until that point. And the OP didnt even ask about price ..

Now please, and for the love of god just

If you didn't want me to reply, then why ask me a question?

In post #4 John Gray had already posted a link to the system described in the OP, indicating the price.

In the next post, you asserted that the base unit retailed for £100, as that is for how much the shop down the road retails your old tat. You were clearly referring to the base unit as you added another £20 for the monitor. Therefore pricing the bundle at £120.

This from a self proclaimed expert on Optiplex machines. :rotfl:

I disagreed with your valuation of £120, as eBay is rife with these base units from as little as £30
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/dell-optiplex-760
So your claim of me finding a one-off bargain is simply erroneous. Again, this from a self proclaimed expert?
Methinks you are trying to prop up the prices of the tat you hold.

If you post rubbish and I see it, expect me to challenge it, rather than to let you mislead money savers.

Now you go on and have a nice day.

When i was composing my post, John Gray's post was not there .
There had been no mention of price.
    I simply stated my experience
Again, this from a self proclaimed expert?
    .

Where have i proclaimed this ?
And once again, where have i recommended any purchase ?

And the base units do retail for £100 as detailed in the many links provided in this thread.
You found a cheaper one .. Well done you

Now apart from that, what else have you contributed to this thread apart from argueing with everyone ?

You are a troll, and the only useful advice you ever give is regarding the installation of windows, and as i stated , my 6 year old daughter can do that..

This is a money saving website, so stupid to suggest that a £50 base unit should cost £100.
Perhaps you should get your six year old daughter to post on your behalf, because your advice is crap.

This is good reason why i no longer get involved in anything more complicated...and that is because of the need to troubleshoot by asking questions. Receiving a timely reply or any reply at all happens more often than not. My time is precious, so I have resolved to not waste it.
But your posting of nonsense info, is easy with which to deal.

As to you not seeing John Gray's post, that would be fine were it not for you still insisting that the correct price for that old tat is £100. You are a joke.

I'm suggested far better options to the OP and made it clear that they can get much better value. All consistent with posting on a website dedicated to money saving.

Whereas you have posted inflated prices for tat and posted pictures of tat in your storeroom. Are you sure that it wasn't posted by your six year old?

Thats what technical support involves - anyone can do a quick ebay search and say "buy this"

But your posting of nonsense info, is easy with which to deal.

How is my telling the OP that the unit will do what he wants it to do nonsense info ?

I wasnt insisting on anything - simply stating what i have seen

You have posted a link from ebay - once again , well done

No, i have posted the price that i have seen them sell for, but at that point, the discussion wasnt about price, had it gone that way then perhaps i would have had a look on ebay too .. my advice was regarding the suitability of the machine for the job, and yes i included the price i have seen them sell for.
Again, you found a cheaper one , well done you

You are one of the worst a$$holes i have ever come across on a forum and no matter what smart a$$ comment you come back with, i flatly refuse to waste any more of my time on you.

Apologies to the OP for this no mannered idiot ruining your thread.

In addition, the OP quoted a price of £119, eighteen minutes before you posted. So your post claiming that £120 is the right price for the bundle goes to suggesting that is good value.
    It is not.
    Money saving website, remember?
So, sell the old tat in the first pic you have stored on eBay, for £25 a pop, as that is likely all they are worth.
