Managed to make mac& cheese but thats about it! Forgot I'd booked the car in for an MOT (baby brain!) so had to wake husband up to drive over with me! Turns out my brake pads need replaced in the next month costing around £250! :(

I'll be phoning around on Monday for other quotes...

    Hi everyone

I'm at the inlaws' this weekend - free food and board :D

My big small thing win this weekend - bought a new dress last week for £14.99....Saw it in the sale for £6.49 and then got a 10% off code and free delivery!! Took the dress back, £14.99 refund and then ordered the very same one online for £5.84! :T

Parked further out from town for free parking...

Had a half pint rather than a full pint at the pub

    Keeping up with YNAB.

Free entertainment - books and games...

    Catch up soon everyone

Enjoyed reading all you contributions today. Thanks for starting Legomum and congratulations on the win! I've been entering a few comps everyday and I've had nothing for ages. I hope my luck changes soon.

Crazy cat lady how do you get involved with marking exam papers? I've mailed my professional body but not heard anything back :-(

Bob what's the work situation? Sorry don't read this threat everyday. Can we help?

Yorkshireless well done on sending your family out to do the shopping! There is no way my DD and DH would stick to a budget and they woul come back with a load of rubbish!

Getting very tired and need a break. Off work from Thursday this week for a week and a half can't wait!

    This weekend I have
    - done 2 market researches
    - check postcode lottery
    - entered several comps
    - got a reduced price chocolate card for my mum in law to cheer her up
    - bought reduced price trousers in the sale that I have had my eye on for months. Great timing for my holiday.
    - have decided to not go abroad this year. Don't have enough money saved and don't want to put on CC. Staying at the in laws near the beach it's no exactly the most relaxing choice but at least we get some time away.
    - used a 10% off voucher to get my DDs new uniform

Off on the motorbike with my DH this after as my DD is going to a friends. Coffee and a walk on ur own will be lovely. Feeling a bit down in the dumps today so hope it will do me some good.

Off to make bacon butties for brunch ...
    Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]
  • Panic over re: brake pads. I just slotted it into my budget plan so at least it's accounted for!

    Today I'm going to:

    - do all the laundry
    - list some shoes on ebay - will hopefully make about £30 as they are a good brand and practically new.
    - attempt to find the textbooks in the garage again
    - finish off turning strawberries
    - make 5 spice beef for dinner tomorrow
    - transfer my overdraft into my barclaycard to save on OD fees - the transfer fee will only be about £18 once off whereas the OD fees are about £30 / month!
    - wash the cover of the sofa bed in prep for selling it
    - list an old chest of drawers on gumtree
    - make a list of things for husband to do on his post-nights days off including getting my brogues reheeled so i dont have to buy a new pair

Hope everyones weekends are going well!!
DFW beginning 24/06/16 - current balances as of 28/07/16 are:
    £1320 / £1520 Paypal Credit
    £5413 / £6913 BarclayCard
    Total: £6733 / £8433 Hopeful DFD - October 2016!
    Grocery Challenge August: £56 / £375

    Afternoon all :)
    So far today I have:
    Walked dog for free exercise
    Bit of tidying up :)
Done some watering in the garden, and sowed some parsnip seeds to gap up a row. A bit late, but we will see what happens :)
Picked a handful of strawberries and raspberries, not much, but enough to accompany my cereal tomorrow morning :)
Picked some lettuce, washed it and bagged in fridge :)
HM meals, not much cooking needed today as I have the remains of a casserole to use up for dinner - just need to do some veg to accompany it :)
No spends today, we aren't going anywhere to spend! :)

    Still to do:
Another dog walk, unless OH decides to do it
    Check banks
Wrap an ebay item and contact buyer of another item to request payment, as he hasn't
More gardening as it is a nice day :)

    Hi All

LuckyPenny thanks for your question. I am at the moment winding down one business and trying to start another in the old businesses premises. So currently reaching out to old contacts who may be able to advise or give input. I love how everyone here is so helpful with their time and advice :) enjoy your bike ride.

    Today I have
    * Wombled a mcd bean. Only need 1 more for a free drink now
    * Used a £1.50 off a £15 spend
    * Cashed out 2 ebay sales on my paypal
    * Treated my OH to a costalot with points. I went in and got him a take out to avoid all of us going and spending anything.
    * Took the children to the park and paddled in the river for free entertainment
    * Bought a new bathmat for £8 as our old one had holes and I threw it away. Dangerous not to have one with children in the house
    * Bought myself 1 new top for £8 in Mr S as all my daily wear tops now have holes. I will bin 1 top and replace it with this one. At least I earned nectar points
    * Found 2p roadkill in Mr S and DS found 2 pennies in the river

Will make some dinner from leftovers tonight.

    Enjoy the sun everyone.

    Bob
