we are due to fly sat . hotel booked with LCH, its a wedding as well, total mess, credit card company being difficult and insurance doesn't cover it, im terrified :( hotel said booking comes via hotels 4 u if we don't go we loose flights, car parking and transfers already paid separately... if we go we may have to pay another 1200 for hotel at peak rate... I feel sick :(

if you phone hotels4u 01733 224 541 they will tell you if its definitely cancelled (which it almost certainly will) then you can decide to either contact hotel to rebook direct or try other hotels

    in meantime start chargeback/section 75

But be prepared to pay out another £1200 again

  • I'm guessing this is a really silly question, but can anyone tell me what I amount can claim back from the Spanish authorities?

    So
Original hotel price was £1575 - this was cancelled
    Rebooked same hotel for £1940
Original flights £1300 - these are still valid
Original resort transfers were £35 - these were cancelled
    Rebooked resort transfers for £30

Do I claim for the cost of the original cancelled bookings (£1610), or the amount it has cost me to rebook (£1970), or something completely different?

trivago is just a comparison site....hotels4u haven't taken new bookings since last year
so your booking will be via Lowcost who will be who chargeback or section 75 will be against

Not great news on the Spanish bonding. It is reported this morning that the LCH bond was woefully low and was insufficient to cover the debts. The bond was apparently for €1.3m and debts and claims likely to exceed €50m. The suggestion is that passengers claimants might only receive GBP£7.50 each.

I had same issue....Booking made via Hoteling.com (part of lowcost group) but it was hotels4u who booked with hotel

obviously hotels4u don't take bookings from individuals but do still do business with other companies

But my claim for chargeback will be with Hoteling.com(lowcost)

Could anyone advise on how to instigate 'Chargeback' procedings after using a NatWest Debit card please?

    Thanks
