So I've set up the DD! O/P £131pm. This is certainly going to keep me on track.

Not a NSD in the end today. We went to a factory shoe shop near us I've heard about. DS needs school shoes, wellies and trainers for school. I'm quite pleased that I got the latter 2 for £21 in this shop. It's definitely worth a visit before going to Clarks. The quality of the school shoes wasn't great though so we'll be off to Clarks at the weekend. I've used my Quidco money to get a 10% top up so that should cover it. Quite pleased with that.

We're all a bit tired tonight so about to have a tea of the gods. Fishfingers, waffles and beans.
  • Hi Zcrat,
Good plan to set up the OP as a DD, it makes it a commitment that way. :)
Aiming to early retire December 31st 2026.

    Thanks Glass_half_full.

It does mean I have to do it doesn't it!

Hard day at work today but a NSD. Quite pleased with myself - had grumble to Tesco Clubcard about some Cineworld vouchers not working easily and they've given me another 4 tickets! That's £35 worth of family entertainment all for the sake of a quick email!

:eek:Morning all. Spent a bit yesterday- school shoe shopping day! I save up my Quidco vouchers and get a 10% Clark's bonus so it cost me a whopping £3!

Bought ds a magazine as he's tried really hard with his reading and writing this week. £4.99:eek:

Then spent £9 in flying tiger. £5 on an inflatable ring for the paddling pool and £4 on snack boxes for after school snacks.

Still within budget and by this point in August I'm often scrabbling around with the ynab categories so quite pleased with that.

Should be a low spend day today. Dh is working all day so I think I'll take the kids to the local museum and then visit him on the tractor for a picnic. Just about to make a chilli to sit in the oven till we get home with ys mince from the freezer. Should do us Mondays dinner too.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

    Morning all.

Doesn't it feel autumnal?! Might even do some blackberry picking today.

Ended up spending £14 yesterday. The museum was free and fab. We were virtually the only people there though. £14 was on parking, a toy in the museum shop and a bakery bun as a snack. Have also spent £5 booking the kids into a museum activity thing in the last week.

I could have done it for just £1.80 for the parking but I'm trying to find that balance. When not watching the pennies I'd have had lunch out.

Today's job is to get back on top of my diet. Half a stone has crept on and my exercise is down to virtually zero. Might go to a local kids church service too.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all.

NSD yesterday. Just a quiet day at home catching up on jobs and resting. Was due to do an online shop for Wednesday but I reckon with the orchard being so fruitful at the moment i might be able to delay it till Friday. Having done that twice this month I'll have saved a weeks grocery money! We do keep our joint account pretty tight so this won't go to o/p anything - just build a little slush fund. Maybe in the eating out category.

Nice quiet day planned today. Bit of work. Do my first run in a loooong time and the ds has some friends round to play this afternoon.

    Have a good day all!

    Morning all.

Ended up buying a pool cover for £35 for the paddling pool yesterday. Seems expensive but I think it'll pay off over the next few years.

Microwave also went kaput yesterday. Now the kids don't drink hot milk I'm not entirely sure we need one. I'm not going to replace it for a while and see how I get on.

Should be a NSD today as I'm at work.

Diet went well yesterday. Ate healthily. Today is lentil, mint & halloumi salad for lunch and chilli for tea.

    Have a good day all.

Spent £4.50 on socks yesterday and my boots points on a few bits I needed. Not too bad.

Not doing so well with the diet. I gave into the cake at work and had a few snacks whilst watching tv. I think I'm going to have to go back to mfp or ww to get some control back.

    Have a good day all.

Well I've just rang up and made an overpayment of £219.31 bringing my mortgage to a nice round £60 000. That will pay off my mortgage 1 month early and save me £203 in interest! Woop Woop!
