I'm surprised these shysters get away with it really. They tried it with my friend about 12 months ago. He had a phone upgrade, decided to sell his iPhone to MM, they offered him a fairly reasonable offer, only to claim when the iPhone arrived at their depot that it didn't switch on and they offered some pitiful amount. He rejected and asked for it back. Phone arrived, and switched on fine, with no problems whatsoever.

Absolute villains really, and their trustpilot page is shady at best. Lots of 5* reviews from people with only a single review to their name.

I've had nothing but good service from MM with phones. Purchased 3 off them last November that where exactly as described and still going strong now. In addition I sent them a S7 in Feb which had to be sent back to me twice due to a misunderstanding on my part with removing the Google account from the phone as they couldn't log into it (I thought I had done it remotely the first time they sent it back) they covered the postage/collection costs for all 3 collections and still got what they originally offered for the phone. Must have been really lucky.

Sent 4 phones to MM over the past few years. Had no issues at all. Full payment always received within a few days.

Another victim here.
I sent them a perfect iPad that they offered £77 for, only to have them claim the battery wouldn’t hold charge and offer £7. There was nothing wrong wth it.

Posted my iPhone to MM as was quoted £95.

Just received an offer of £28 due to 'bent casing' stating 'Your Item is Not as Specified'.

The phone was immaculate, in perfect working order and certainly not bent. It was extremely well packaged too.

I declined the offer instantly and sent a complaint,

Now I await my iPhone's return (if at all) and whatever damage they may inflict on it to back up their scam :-(

It's sad to hear there are so many similar stories here...

How are they getting away with it :mad:

I then sent my phone to Fone Wizzard and received full payment the next day.

Not sure they are breaking any rules here, you have a choice to go elsewhere.

I got that exact reply from MM. Later that day I got another saying the phone has a fault and revised their offer of £103 to £31. Nothing at all wrong with the phone as was using until I posted it to them. I think it is standard for them to offer the best price initially just to hopefully steal the phone with the revised offer.

You maybe better going to somewhere like cash generator where you can deal with a person face to face.

I recently sent 2 phones to them, they were in excellent condition, and they offered around £75 for each.
Which was subsequently knocked down to £11 and £7 due to some made up damage.


I never bothered replying to them, god knows what happened to the phones.


I'm tempted to setup a burner Music Magpie account, fill a box full of nappies, cat ****, rotten food and other unpleasantries then box it up and send to them under the guise of some old ipad I wish to sell.

All I am going to suggest to who ever chances buying something from musicmagpie is when your item arrives use your mobile to record you opening it check the item over and if it damage in anyway make sure you have video evidence of it same with if you plan to sell to them and if you have to ring them to complain record the conversation because these robbing gits will not think twice of ripping you off they recently sent me a phone with what I thought was a scratch well that scratch turned out to be a crack in the inner screen it lasted 12 days it was a xmas pressy for my daughter I rang up they said they will fix it even tho they claim to record the conversations I did record it just to be on save side glad I did because they claim they never said it, it was never broke when they sent it which I have proof to state otherwise and they refused to fix it and sent it back to me so I seeked professional help from a solicitor they help me by providing information told me what to do like put in a dispute claim then write the review and be honest and don't flip out and I have now lets see how fast they are at correcting the crooked ways and someone in here said it's not very buisness like to con people why would they do it like any buisness like musicmagpie they are money oriented not customer oriented if they can get away with robbing you they will , you ask it just don't make sense well a thief robbing old people is the same it happens at end of day they have got away with it because people just give up and accept there prices so imagen if you sold your old phone and it works perfect no scratches or blemishes, the condition of the phone is like the first day you brought it and the only reason your selling it is because you upgraded u send it off to them and they tell you they give you fiver because they claim its broken and they send you a photo of a phone broken that looks exact to yours you would believe it and think it happened through the post it's the oldest scam in the book
