Yes I obviously see things when I see the cats doing it. FYI we have 6 foot fencing all round which is tight to ground level.
no dogs can get in. I have never seen any foxes in the gardens (would they climb a 6 foot fence to get in to our garden?)
So yes,perhaps Im sleep crapping.0 -
My garden is cat proof, quite easy to do with some wire at the top of the fence. The birds don't get disturbed.Sell £1500

You haven't discounted hedgehogs. They often leave similar poo to a cat, especially if they have a source of cat food nearly 👍🏻0 -

Okay then. So I went to pick up some timber the other day. Lovely sunny afternoon as I built a new shed.
I come home after about 45 minutes and find a cat(oh no,can't be) crap right where I was working.
Was this a hedgehog out sunbathing in the afternoon?0 -

And these people missing about cats c rapping in their garden, if they can see it then it's likely to be hedgehog or fox poo. They don't bury their poo and are quite happy to leave it strewn all over your lovely lawn. Cats are more secretive and will hide/bury their poo. Only keen gardeners are likely to come across it before it decomposes.
Having lived in the country all my life I know the difference between cat shat and fox shat .
Its quite easy to distinguish cat shat from a fox shat especially when the cat is still attached to the said shat and coiling one out as I watch.
Cats attempt to cover it up in the same way dogs do.Dogs will take a dump on grass and then use their back legs in a scuffing motion to attempt to bury it which is quite funny to watch as they never actually cover. Its a natural instinct that both dogs and cats have but in truth neither species are very good at it hence why we find it. Cats do shat on grass if they can't find a nice flower border to do it on and also seem to enjoy taking a shat on my slate chippings.
"Only keen gardeners are likely to come across it".Well I'm not a keen gardener ,that's why I have slate chippings over my flower borders and all around the shrubs but I "come across it" on a regular basis.

Asa dog owner, I don't think its acceptable for any dog owner to let their dog to shat on pavement, recreation grounds, parks etc but from your post it seems you think its ok for my neighbours cat to shat in my garden.
Its a very strange attitude to take.0 -
Not all cats bury their poo. Google it. Lots of examples e.g. http://consciouscat.net/2013/03/18/why-does-my-cat-not-cover-her-poop/
Hedgehog poo is much smaller and doesn't smell nearly as bad and at least it's composed of slugs and snails which also make a nuisance of themselves in my garden.0 -

No, I don't think it's acceptable hence why I condone using the water pistol method to deter unwanted cats. It causes them no physical harm and as a cat lover myself I certainly wouldn't take issue if a neighbour used one against a cat I owned. I might, however, take issue if they decided to spray some noxious liquid over my cat!
It's called applying common sense. Oh and not sure what sort of dog you own but I've yet to come across one which attempts to bury it's own poo! For a start, my dog doesn't poo on open grass. He's been trained not to. He sticks his bum in the hedgerow where it's almost impossible to find.
And in 50 years of owning cats, I've yet to find one that poos on open grass. They almost always find soil or sand or somewhere equally suitable to bury it. Cats have more predators than dogs in the wild so are naturally more careful in covering their tracks.0 -

The hedgehog/fox poo in my garden stinks to high heaven! And I almost always tread in it on the way down the garden to hang out the washing!0 -

People will say anything to back up their belief/argument. Now if you'd posted photographic evidence of such then maybe I might just believe you0
