New bird table and audience of cats !

Just bought a bird table, lovely, lots of different birds visiting everyday, it's been most educational.
Now, I wake up to three cats on the lawn, curled up in a line watching the bird table, now, there are no birds visiting.

Apparently, this gang of feline invaders are new to the neighbourhood and have decided to line up to stake out the bird table, and, when they are not doing that, they have taken up residency on the shed roof, lolling around all day like they own the place.

Can someone suggest something I can use to deter them?

A pump action water pistol filled with orange squash. It's lovely and sticky and won't do them any harm. <awaits cat lover brigade>

Yes, a water pistol (no need for the orange squash, why would OP want a sticky garden?) preferably one that makes a click when you load it. After getting squirted a few times they should run as soon as they hear you loading it. <a cat lover>

Is our cat Raffles at your place, as he has managed a couple of kills in the last day, while the blackbirds have stripped my cherry tree of its berries!
Oh, decent water pistol. You only have to use it once.

Urgh I hate the fact a cat can just wander into pples gardens, and do its business where it likes. Or linger around where it is not wanted. I would want them gone too!

Cats actually go where they are welcome. Our ruffian, which we pay the vets bill on!, has at least five other houses where he gets affection. Neighbore abhors cats, and he by-passes their place complete!

See that's why I don't like cats, no loyalty.... you pay the vets bills and some else gets all the benefits of owning a pet with none of the responsibility or costs

Cut some prickly bushes and put the branches on the shed roof. They won't go up there twice! Weigh them down with bricks to stop them blowing away.

My mum had cats that used to go under one of her bushes and poop there. She cut down some cotoneaster twigs, shoved them under the bush, bingo! Cat came out quicker than it went in.

Citronella spray will deter the cats, when you can't be out there with a water pistol. (Cat owner and lover, but also bird lover)

Why does a cat thread always bring out the !!!!! who want to harm them, you should try that round my way & i know where your air gun would end up & you wouldn't need a case to carry it home
