I too was amazed at the quotes so I did a few checks. It seems to vary a great deal depending on where you are going, prices for rentals from Newark are about twice the price of rentals from Orlando for example.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Blimey TC, it looks like you're going to need deep pockets whilst you're over there.

good luck and have a great time.

    hello TC

that seems an awful lot of money for a 2 week rental.
I've got a few minutes spare :D. Can you give me an idea of dates and the airports your going from/to and I'll have a mooch around for you:beer:

Thank you Murphy :-) I've been hunting for a while best price is about £490
I'm going to Hawaii Honolulu airport 15-29 Aug.
Please don't hunt to hard as I've exhausted Google looking hence the independent insurance which makes it a sensible price :-)

    Thank you

    Hiya
West jet have just started flying from Vancouver to London they also connect to Oahu (Honolulu)
I looked a good 8 months in advance via skyscanner.net (virgin &Ba have started to drop their prices to to try to compete)
(Book early for best price, they garentee that if they reduce their prices at anytime they will refund you the difference.
Got flights for about £560pp 2 hour layover in way out but 12 hours in Vancouver on way back. (Left luggage $5 per bag so we can go explore Canada)
I booked Turtle bay apartment from https://www.homeaway.co.uk (it's direct with owners) I've used this site loads. I paid £1200 for 2 weeks private apartment beach front on golf course. Complex has heated pool ect.

So Hawaii 4 people (adult price )
    £3500 and that's peak season.

I hope that helps you out?

    cheers TC
That helps a lot. I've looked at Westjet for my trip, but I couldn't get my itinerary to match up with where they fly from and when they fly !

I know the route, the flight numbers and the exact itinerary that I'd like -- all I need to do is a) wait until the seats go on sale & then b) wait until they're the price that I want to pay.

I'll have a mooch around the Homeaway site. Doing a rental could work nicely for us.

Your very welcome, I would say go through sky scanner as you can mix and match airlines.
I often fly with 2 different airlines as the prices can work out better to book it as 2 one way trips.
    Happy hunting :-)

I'm looking at packing in quite a lot into a multi stop trip (its a celbratory trip, so I've prewarmed my CC to prepare for a shock !)

Currently, google flights is offering me better value prices and more realistic connection options than kayak, momendo, skyscanner etc, but I keep an eye on them just in case.
In the past Duchy has been very helpful and open with her advice, with has opened my eyes to ticketing and flight options that I would never have previously considered.

p.s. with you connecting via YVR, do you need a ETA ?

I looked into this because my trip completes in Aug I fall under the leniency stage of passport only.
But for the sake of $7 I figured I would take the hit just incase I get an overzealous check in clerk lol.

If you are in Vancouver less than 48 hours on transit you can get a free visa but it recommends you get a EST? All confusing reading lol

Sounds like one hell of a trip your planning :-)
