  • Suffolksue - stay in touch with these friends & keep up the trips? Loneliness & low morale can also be prepped against!

Jojo - tweezerman pointed - something like these? And I do like a bodhran even if Nothing gets my scouts to keep in step. [Even Remembrance, blush.]

GQ if you want to repossess assorted structures, you may need to kidnap some of the St.Fagans & Avoncroft lot - they may not have quite the Lego experience but they relocate buildings for the tourist industry (fun *&* profit). Leave them the embroidery - or swap the Reading "copy" for the original... (What do you plan to tell assorted parts of the world they want their heritage back? I mean Pitt Rivers did at least pay for his stuff (and what a haul! You really can't keep a well financed eccentric down...) but the Greeks might not feel they'd seen the receipt for the Elgin marbles etc)

A Customs pal told me of a father & daughter & horsebox trip. They returned, intelligently & wholly legally, laden with case after case of the good stuff.
    "All for personal use?"
"Yes!" beamed the lass (as her father grinned a bit ruefully) "Do you want to come to the wedding?" & held out a pair of the traditional heavy stock embossed tickets.
It was their horsebox, and her father smiled wryly that by buying in volume, on site, with his charming daughter, they had saved enough to afford most of the rest of the trimmings she wanted...

I never did hear if Customs attended the event, but I approved the thoroughness with which the family set about the procedure.

That's exactly the ones - they are very sharp and need to be kept that way.

DforV Ooooh yes - LOVELY things in the Louvre. But please not that awful smiling woman the Moaning Lisa. My m-in-law had a copy of it in her front room and the very thought of that room makes me shudder.
And let's not touch any part of the Vendee - my b-in-law might pop up and then I'd have to kill him. And that sort of thing does tend to sour family relations.

Anyone need any honey? We have 462lbs of it, it's to be distributed around the family over the next few weeks. We're out of hot tomato relish though so I'll be defrosting the tomatoes and making a lot more soon.

:D Depending on the family, it might even be de rigeur.

Matricide, patricide, fratricide........ is there a term for BIL-i-cide?

The Vendee is safe for the simple reason I haven't the foggiest about where in Cheeselandia it is to be found. Yup, I could look it up, but I am running the Campaign in my copious free time (snort!) and cba.

I am cream-crackered and having an easy supper - YS ready meal and some of 2017's runner beans from the freezer.

:T your plans have just sent my SAT count up to an acceptable 98! They might let me go home today if I'm lucky.

Jojo Pratricide? Oh yes!!! Perfect. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thriftwizard - great news, sending you good wishes for a speedy recovery x

Goodness. These plans for world domination are tiring. Just a thought GQ but do we have a good Quartermaster? After all, an army marches on its stomach, and frankly these days I don't go anywhere without at least two strong cups of tea first. I'd hate to see us fail because we've run out of roast beef, Yorkshire puds and spotted Richard.

In home news it's a dried pantry goods audit here today. Tinned goods have dropped noticeably since I spent so long away, I've mean meaning to restock properly for a while so I'm glad I'm having this prepping rethink.

:D You are hearby appointed Quartermaster (or Quartermistress, if you prefer), Cappella. I, too, cannot function well without a few gallons of tea and love my roast beef.

Part of the extended GQ clan have been living on the near-continent for about 100 years now and had to liberate several chests of tea from the retreating British Army before the advancing German Army got their paws on them. When you are facing several years of Occupation, you have to get your priorities right.

The country cousins with the tea stash were able to keep the city cousins well-provisioned. 'Twas an important comfort through some trying times.
