SAT count is the measure of how much oxygen your blood's transporting around to the necessary bits. And I'm home safe & sound but minus a less-than-necessary bit that had turned a bit nasty. Phew! Lifesavers all, and I'm very grateful & awed by the speed & efficiency of the treatment, but it's good to be out in the fresh air again...

  • If you do decide to go rampaging, I have a degree in French and could potter along and interpretate a bit. Only it is a bit old like me.

Can't we just shout a bit louder and go red in the face?
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Glad you're safely home, thriftwizard. Try to take things a bit easier than usual for a couple of weeks!

I've been racking my brains to think what I could bring to the invading force. I do good hugs, if that's any use? You can't have too many hugs, I always think. I have an "A" in O-level French as well, though its' several years since our last French holiday.

    and that all is well.

Maryb You're right of course but isn't one volunteer better than hundreds of pressed men? Though what use hundreds of flat men would be goodness knows. I vote we take ancientofdays and Ivyleafas well. All that shouting could cause laryngitis and then we'd not be able to speak at all.

DforV Absolutely. No trifle is unconsidered in MY Army.

But if Mardatha is going to be on the other side maybe it's time we all gave up and went quietly home before she wakes up??

Don't take this cheerful mischief too seriously - we nearly invaded the borders of Scotland for the abandoned crofts a few weeks back. (That said, if I see the right one, I'll be in there with the lime mortar & dubious paperwork suggesting I've been there a while - but my skills with lime mortar are such that I do look worryingly as if I was exhumed only half an hour ago.)
    Wonderful, both of you :j:rotfl::j:rotfl::j:rotfl:
And GQ, of course, for starting it all off. And everyone else, for chipping in :D

Thriftwizard, I'm glad you're out in the fresh air - it's a bit cold outside though, so don't stay out too long!

I've been saying farewell to former pastures (okay, pine forests ... they happen to be full of red squirrels) and having a little tour of the new pastures (okay, my brother drove me round the suburb he's moving to) ... it was good to see. In what must be an omen, when I looked at the house later on google earth, a cat has been photographed sitting in the front :rotfl: so it must be a very good area :D

  • Hello lovely peeps, - it seems a gazillion years since I have been on this site. I cannot possibly tell you, those whose names I remember, but anyhoos, I am here and like all the fab peeps on this thread, I have been slowly and quietly doing bits and pieces. Felt quite lonely and then I though - ahh I know where to go. So sorry for being a lousy MSE friend. I look forward to speaking to those I know and those I don't. x

Thriftwizard - delighted you're out of hospital & breathing comfortably & thankyou for explaining the sat thing!

here was a minor panic on the prepping front when I found son #2 had devoured the contents of every curry & Chinese jar I had stashed. My easy meals in the event were his easy meals when peckish....
After some vigorous discussion, I will resupply tomorrow & he will tell me when he's eaten Any of them. [oh yes he will... Anyone?!]

I must try to get him to try the Aldi tortellini - they're vacuum packed & don't need refrigeration. Add boiling water & a nudged can of tomato with sloshes of Lea & Perrins, balsamic, lemon juice and the traditional handful of herbs - smashing nosh in minutes & largely from stores!
The Aldi tortellini are delicious, given how long they can be left in the storecupboard!

:j Glad to have you out of the horsepickle and with the madcap adventurers in the preposphere, thriftwizard. And there was me thinking that SAT was something about academic testing of Umerican skoolchildren.

    ... and point.

    You have to point.
