I really appreciate all of your feedback. Thank you.
i think your plan is a good one karmacat in that I should have the relevant ingredients stored to assemble as I need them. I thought I struggled to find the info I needed on our shores nuatha. That's probably why. Kittie if it's not good enough for you it's not good enough for me.

I’ve not been on for a bit as things have been manic but just wanted to say thanks to kitty as her advice re Ophelia has made me finally convince hubby to sort out our garden!
Trampoline staked to the ground, pickles toys tidied away, things taken apart and put in the shed, bikes chained to the big cherry tree and securely covered (no room in the shed).
Plus pickle has been outside “helping” which has meant I’ve had chance to get some housework done.
Now if we do get any of the strong winds we are prepared.
I have candles and torches plus a gas hob.
And hopefully garden items will stay in place.
Though not sure same can be said about the fence (next doors property) which is desperate to be replaced.
Thanks for the advice 😊Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
It's a little technical in places, but if anyone's interested this soap making e-book is free at the moment on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HKMN9RW/
The basic recipes seem simple enough but there's a lot of book to get through before you reach them - I never knew soap could be so dangerous! That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Hi Nuatha, didn't know you had come back - "wee wave" !0

I'm at Mum's again - another antibiotic reaction put her in hospital on Friday but she's out again now - but before I came down I went down to the 'lottie and and did my best to secure our somewhat flimsy free-off-Gumtree shed. We're on the edge of the site, adjoining but raised above the watermeadows, which run east-west so kind of funnel the wind... there's a little shelter from a blackthorn hedge, but not a lot. I've caulked every gap and weighted it down with paving slabs; all I can do now is cross my fingers and hope for the best! My chilli plants are directly in front of it & still producing well...
Home is much more sheltered, but I'm not overly confident that OH and the girls took me seriously enough to put stuff in the garden away. Although we are not scheduled to be under the worst of it, IMHO hurricanes are too unpredictable to ignore.Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

They are expecting a sting in the tail ie it will multiply the winds in about 2 1/2 hours in eire. Getting blustery here, yellow sky from saharan dust. We ain`t seen nothing yet. Look at the express online for the closest to reality0
