oh exactly, we all know that silverfrost, however, they are following the models this time and explaining in language that people can understand. Most people cannot follow the weather models and updates which are quite scientific with very strange language
I have been out with saw and secateurs. I have been trimming some young apple trees, still in full leaf, that would not be safe but they are now0 -

DDs and sil put garden furniture inside the garage for me when they came for lunch yesterday which is a relief.
The sky was a beautiful bright blue yesterday and we ate lunch in the garden. Today the sky has been overcast and very grey. There is a weird look almost as if a storm was coming."This site is addictive!"

We have no sun here but the sky is yellow/orange and tinged with grey. I've never seen anything like it before. My house is in darkness and has been all day.

Looooong time lurker from Belfast - Ophelia is getting very lively over here, all schools in Northern Ireland shut, hospitals cancelled appointments, workplaces closed early - I was sent home at 12. Has never been anything like this in NI in my memory.
Winds getting quite scarey now and the eye of the storm isn't due in Belfast until 6. Whole house shaking right now!
Got my candles, torches at the ready and garden stuff is all taken inside.
Fingers crossed it's not as bad as the predictions....however kids loving the day off school :rotfl:
