Even in jest, I'm not going to hope for assassination
and I do actually think it's likely, both for N Korea and the USA
I've been thinking about it recently in terms of my abandoned (soon to be re-acquired) novel, thinking about the atmosphere it would create... very Not Good.
Own prepping is boring, predictable and necessary at the moment - yep, I'm still clearing the garden and my surrounding hedges. I *have* found myself drafting new blog posts, which is nice, and I've peeped over the internet fence at a forum I belong to, but haven't been to since my mum died. It'll be nice to go back.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I don't have a pitchfork, I have my late father's hoe that you turn and the other side has a small fork effect thinger. I haven't any idea what one of these woukd be called, but I am rather fond of my hoes. Less so of my spades, and the number of digging forks I've had to have re handled is a joke.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

My most-used garden tool is the digging fork -£5 bootsale, and I have a bootsale spade, which is a little short for my height but since I don't use it much, it's a non-problem. My wickedly-sharp little swan-necked hoe is another fave piece of gear which cost me £1 - metal handle, that'll defy the woodworm.
But my best and favourtist and only new piece of garden gear is the mattock. I know people who've gardened for decades who've never used one, never even seen one, don't even know what they are. Tell ya, if you loan it for a hard task, they become raving converts in a moment and you have to fight them to get the darned thing back again.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I don't have a mattock. This is sad, I'll possibly need one but once we have moved. I use my digging fork most but OH replaced it with one that us too big and heavy for me, I like a border fork best. The bigger forks tend to have too long a handle, I'm shortish. I find it too easy to hurt myself if a garden tool isn't right for my height.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

I don't know what a mattock IS. Does this mean I'm not a real prepper?0

I haven't seen a headline like this in a while:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/13/us-may-launch-strike-north-korea-goes-nuclear-weapons-test/
This may be the most dangerous time since the Cuban missile crisis.
Does anyone have a spare bunker?0 -
is a mattaock the same as an Azada? I use mine all the time, its great for getting bramble roots out.0

I don't like assassinations because they leave a void into which someone completely 'unknown territory' and possibly 100 times worse, certainly in ruthlessness and possibly in all other aspects can step out of the twilight zone uncontested. Give me a decent impeachment or convincing political defeat by the 'people' over making anyone a 'martyr' any day!0

OK - popping out of lurkdom to mention that I am a tad concerned about the N Korea/USA/China/etc situation - but there's nothing I can do about it
So I bought a book.
"The Mandibles ( a family 2029-2047)". It's a Lionel Schriver & I know a lot of people don't like her but I've started this & I love it. Bit prepperish and it's getting good reviews. Ideal for a curl up on sofa this weekend. I am trying to finish my other book first so there is no guilt in unabandoned enjoyment of a good book.
Back to lurkdom (with books in tow).
