I went on the hunt for cellophane gift bags to wrap my HM chocolates in yesterday, and came out disappointed.Note to self: grab them during the year whenever I see them!
Hi, I don't know if you're still looking but I got a pack of 30 bags for £1.65 on eBay the other day, have you tried looking there? They were listed as kids' party bags but I'm going to be putting biscuits in them to give as presents, and they are an okay size for what I'm needing them forJune 2016 Grocery Challenge- £49.61/£900 -

those almonds look scrummy Islandmaid. I am horribly behind with everything Christmas this year.
One thing I have just done to speed to the card writing process next year is to re-write my Christmas card list. First of all I removed the people with whom I no longer exchange cards. Then I have gone through the cards we have received to double check and then document the names of extended family members and spellings there of. No more checking Facebook next year in a bid to remember the age order of a colleagues' offspring or whether it is claire/clare!
The old list is safely stowed in my purse ready for the post Christmas sales when I buy my special relations cards.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
The rocky road looks good Island Maid, the only problem is it disappears so fast!
My fudge-making attempts failed, as it just wouldn't set firm so it's staying in the freezer for now. I know what the problem is, I soaked some raisins in a lot of rum to plumpen them and then threw it in - rum and all - the cooling mixture. With that amount of alcohol it was doomed. Any rescue suggestions?

VfM4 - If the fudge is still 'liquid', you could try reboiling it and add a grated bar of white chocolate, that would firm it up without effecting the flavour.
If not stir it though Icecream re freeze and get a big spoonNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

So yes a fudge swirly ice-cream did occur to me, but I was wondering whether a bag of dessicated coconut might give it the required consistency.
There is rather a lot of it (I used a 1kg tin of Carnation)Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
