Couldn't agree more, I think that Kevin the Carrot is far more Christmasy than the Lewis's one0

I can proudly announce I have finished all the Christmas preps and pressies , just fresh stuff to get now and I might start wrapping pressies tomorrow.
This afternoon/evening will be spent on making things for the school fete.

I am on the hunt for some black photo frames about 12 x 6 ish old money - for a project I have in mind, no luck in the interweb so far. I am struggling to find something for Hubby as when asked he says he has everything he needs - which is lovely, but I like to give him something on Xmas day - hence the frame search.....
I,ve been practicing baked goods for hampers and have made some Christmas tree ShortbreadNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Anyone seen the John Lewis advert yet? I must say I prefer the Kevin the carrot one from Aldi
ETA: I quite like it! But this one is better
I've recently posted about Aldi advent calendars:VfM4meplse wrote: »I almost forgot to post
There are 3 styles available, each with pros and cons.
White advent house - pretty enough, the boxes are larger than appear online (the depth makes the size roughly a cube), similar design to those sold at BHF, CRUK etc. Has LED light and is the "prettiest". However it is lightweight, the knobs I think are quite delicate and the colour means it's liable to be tainted by grubby fingers. On closer inspection the finish was slightly lacking, eg the scene on the roof wasn't particularly well assembled. Suitable IMO for adults / a Christmas mantelpiece.
Nutcracker - a larger piece in the shape of a toy soldier. The compartments are much bigger, and although it has knobs (I think?) it's not a delicate item and is more robust in every way. Suitable for a boy in general (my opinion).
Candy house - the same size as the white advent house, but much heavier and sturdier, and 3 of the 24 compartments are also bigger. Each compartment has a different Christmassy design; the smaller cube sized boxes can easily be opened by little fingers. Gender neutral, and definitely geared towards young children, this was the option I went for. I expect my niece to get at least 10 years use out of it!
And how to fill them cheaply:VfM4meplse wrote: »Had a successful trip to Poundland yesterday evening and thought I would report back on findings. There were loads of Christmas bits for kids, including old fashioned woorden games, light jigsaw puzzles, books galore including "clever books", and a hand grabber which I had to stop myself form buying. (Our LO just isn't old enough!).
My mission was to find stuff to fill my Aldi advent calender with - achieved. I bought a 48-piece My Little Pony jigsaw puzzle (2 pieces a day, I'll make it up in advance so the connecting pieces will find their way into succesive days), some glittery Christmas stickers and a bag of cholcolate Christmas puddings. So for £3, some creative activities and a little treat every day on completion. Next year I'll be on the look-out for a jigsaw with a Christmas scene.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

My local radio station has started playing the odd Christmas song, it did feel a bit too early to hear Slade!0

BB - thanks for that, nothing at Wilko, but found some frames at The Range.

Well given that SM's tend to start shoving it down our throats after bonfire night then it's no real surprise. I personally enjoy getting into the festive spirit so I don't particularly mind.
The exception though is Christmas trees or decorations which people flaunt too early. In a village next to me there is a house with a Santa climbing into the chimney already!!0
