My Not So Secret Diary...

I've neglected the diary for the last couple of weeks, truth is things just got a bit crappy and I haven't felt motivated to come on to the diary or even the forums for the that matter. My husband and I have borrowed money to top up our income while he has been on sick and I just feel like we are falling at a rapid rate. I was waiting for a refund on marriage allowance for last year, finally spoke to someone at HMRC who stated that my husband had underpaid his tax last year (apparently this happened when he switched jobs last year as he was paid by 2 employers in the same month and they both used the same tax code?) anyway they decided to use the money that they owed him, to pay what he owes them... makes sense really but I was a little bit annoyed especially as they never explained this to me and instead just left it with me to chase up!
My husband is now back at work on a phase return so hopefully we will be able to get a handle on things soon. He still hasn't received any money from the insurance company for his loss of earnings! He has however put in a complaint to Lloyds bank for some bank charges he received a few years ago (long story) we are hoping he may get something back but at the same time we are not holding our breathe as we these things are never straight forward for us....
