Thanks mum2one, I spoke to a friend earlier who is a solicitor and I feel abit better about the situation, she reassured me that things are moving along at the right pace etc... Just need to accept that I won't be making any big payments off any debts at the moment.
Had some friends over last night, my husband gave them a lift home and they gave him £10.00 - he didn't ask or expect anything and tried to decline but they left it in the car, so that was quite nice and will help us out.
We are off on holiday in a few days, we booked it before my husband's accident and it has been paid for so we will be going, only going to the east coast but hopefully the weather will be ok and we can take advantage of the beach etc... mother in law has bought buckets and spades etc to take with us, will be cheaper from here than from the sea front i'm sure!
Starting to question whether I should look for a new job, but I think that is a different post for a different day, just my mind going into over drive I think!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend! XxNo one is going to stand up at your funeral and say

Morning all, I did not sleep well last night at all. So many things running through my mind and general worry. Feeling sorry for myself today which I know doesn't help matters. Still waiting on topcashback to pay into my account and also my expenses from work, which will be about £45 in total when that happens. I have someone collecting something from me tommorow too that they have bought, whether they will or not is another matter as this is the third time they have arranged to come... Hubs will be phoning his solicitor again today, hopefully he will get an update on his claim.
With us going away at the end of the week I haven't done a big shop and instead I am just getting bits every day, I've already been to Aldi this morning and bought the kids a pizza for tea for 89p.

It sounds daft but ur on the home straight, even if it's a mini payment it's a payment - when u get sorted u go from there. The break sounds like it will do u all the world of gd, def a lot cheaper than the seaside, - the amount of stuff I use to cart when dd was young, save the pennies the pounds look after themselves,
it doesn't sound like this is the best time about the new job - xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi everyone, finally I have got my topcashback money and expenses paid into my account - phew. Things are also starting to move along with my husband and he is seeing a specialist tomorrow, following the specialists report he should receive some money to either cover some loss of earnings or an interim payment, but also (and more importantly) he should get an idea what to expect regarding his recovery and the specialist will refer him for more treatment. My husband's main aim at the moment is to get back to work, think he his going a little crazy at home but physically he cant go back, hopefully this will help!
I agree about the job mum2one, think I was in panic mode thinking I could get out there and earn more money to cover everything, but realistically it just wouldn't work like that.
Need to spend some time sorting my daughter's school uniform out, it's expense after expense isn't it! Luckily I think some of her uniform will fit from last year and also I bought some cardigans etc in the schools second hand sale, so will just be new shoes, socks and tights I think...
Off to bed soon, as feeling very tired and worn down, one more shift left and then off work for a couple of weeks - can't wait!!No one is going to stand up at your funeral and say

Feeling annoyed and confused today. Back in April I applied for Marriage allowance, I was told I could claim for last year and that I would receive a cheque. I never heard anything so chased it up last week, today my husband has got a letter saying he won't be getting the refund and "this is because you did not receive your transfer allowances until the tax year 2016/2017"
I've called HMRC and the man I spoke to couldn't understand it. He confirmed it was all on the system and there is no reason my husband shouldn't receive it so he will pass it back apparently and get them to look at it again...
It's just another thing I have to mess about and chase up now which is frustrating, especially when it would help so much at the moment but never mind.
Won't be posting for a few days now due to going away, hopefully when I am back on I will have some good news!

Hi All,
Came back from holiday yesterday... spent way more than I would have liked to but we had a nice time and what's done is done. We didn't use any credit for it and both our parents kindly gave us some money to do some nice things with the children which helped massively and was very much appreciated (and unexpected!) Now it's time to get back to it!
I have spent the morning doing a meal plan and shopping list and will be off to Aldi later today to do that. I am still off work for another week so will be going through everything with a fine tooth comb and hopefully coming up with a plan to get through to Christmas. Unfortunately one of my credit cards comes off 0% this month, due to circumstances I have not been able to pay off as much as I had hoped, I am also unable to transfer the balance so I just need to suck it up and get on with it. Trying not to feel too disheartened and just want to remain focused on the long term goal.
Back to school in just over a week, need to go through all my daughters uniform to see what fits and what doesn't and buy new bits. Feel like I have left it right to the last minute in comparison to previous years.
I had hoped we might have received a letter regarding the marriage allowance but we haven't. Think I will give it till after the bank hol and then chase it up again...
Will be getting back into the decluttering and selling this week. Just feel like I need a rest today. Plus I have a mountain of washing to get through... it's all fun fun fun!

Happy Bank Holiday everyone!
I received an unexpected £20 this weekend, well not so much unexpected, more I had forgot about it (it was the deposit for a recent hol) currently got it in my purse while I decide what to do with it... No bills have gone out yet due to the bank holiday so hoping that all sorts itself out tomorrow then I can see what I need to do this month. Will also been chasing the marriage allowance up this week as not heard anything since last time. Kids are out for the day with family tomorrow so got the day to myself to go through things and sort stuff out. Feeling a little frustrated with how slow things are moving, going to have a look through some money saving blogs today for inspiration! Off to make tea now! will update again soon xxxNo one is going to stand up at your funeral and say

I've also decided to list my debts within this thread, so I can follow them. Now generally my husband and I consider our debts to be both our responsibility but while we're in this awkward place with his injury and him being off sick I am going to focus on just the accounts in my name as he is using his cards to help him through, not ideal at all I know but with no savings and an insurance company dragging their feet then needs must unfortunately
So here we go... *takes deep breath*
CC1 - £4418.76
CC2 - £1125.11
CC3 - £2913.32
VERY - £809.66
Total: £9266.85
Today all the bills have caught up from the bank holiday weekend, I have also made a payment to Very, as I had something on buy now pay later that needed paying before Friday! so I have done a monthly round up of my debts. As it stands today they are...
CC1 - £4370.81
CC2 - £1100.11
CC3 - £2847.78
VERY - £584.00
Total - £8902.70
Feels good going below £9000 - although as I have said before this the debt in just my name, my husband has 2 credit cards in his name but he has been borrowing off them to top up his sick pay and we are still working with solicitors and insurers etc to get loss of earnings reimbursed so we are hoping that he will be able to pay off what he has borrowed!!
Also had to renew car insurance today, used compare the market and managed to get insured for less than the previous year, payments have been reduced from £37 down to £28, which is fab! Also went through top cash back.
Had to go into town earlier, parked a bit further out on a residential street rather than paying for the car park, only a small gesture but hoping these little things will make big differences!
Child free day today and lots to do so going to have some lunch and get cracking! xNo one is going to stand up at your funeral and say
