Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I feel awful that I said in September about me receiving my goods when so many people have lost their money.

We have just had to go out and purchase another table (got quite a good deal from JTF) as the one we bought from Dinerstore has been falling to pieces the past couple of months. It was a dropped leaf table and the leafs warped and the chairs snapped in the middle. It looked great when we got it but it was real sub-standard quality.

I myself purchased a dining set on the 2nd April from Dinerstore and just before confirming order had various email conversations with them in respect of delivery times etc.. which made me confident and submitted my order. I re emailed them again Mid May to check on the progress of my order. As I had heard nothing and no money had been taken from my Visa Card. I tried to email twice, tried the 0800 number on the emailed invoice and the halifax number but both were dead. My predicament is that I havent heard anything, they havent taken any money from my card (I believe I maybe one of the lucky ones) but I am in limbo. I spoke with my credit card company First Direct and they said that they cannot block a future payment from this company but if they take the money and do not deliver the goods I could go for a claim to get the money back!! in the Meantime I am desparate to purchase a table and chairs!! but it would be murphy's law if I go off and and purchase a new set, then this company can still access and take the moneis and then go and delivery the set!! I dont wanna be stuck with 2 sets!! Is there anyone else in the situation. I dont know whether to sit tight and wait or cut my losses.... any advices?
  • Just to confirm the sole trader operation as dinerstore is now in bankruptcy proceedings, so if you have ordered anything its very very unlikley that he will be delivering to you.

I'm another angry customer of Dinerstore. I currently have a damaged dining table which was delivered in February. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere regarding the delivery of a replacement they go bust! It transpires, talking to other retailers, that the replacement item was unlikely to have been ordered from the supplier in the first place. All in all Dinerstore have sold me a £400 box of fire wood. Great. Will try to get the money back but I wont hold my breath.

I have subsequently bought another table from a company called www.furniturestar.co.ukukfurn.jpg . The service has been great and I now have a dining table that's in mint condition. I gave them a bit of a grilling prior to ordering to ensure the Dinerstore experience would not be replicated and they came up trumps. Definately worth a try.
:T:Tis all I an do.. finally, someone else with some sense!! LOL.
