Must stop spending

  • I had 6 NSD's last week! :) Monday to Saturday I didn't spend a penny!
Yesterday we went to the pub with friends for lunch and it came to £17 each.
On Saturday I returned a top which I bought in the sale for £60. I should never have bought it as I can't afford it. Once the money is back in my account I will transfer it to my holiday fund because I borrowed from that a few times this month.
Can't wait til pay day on Friday. I really hope I get a bonus. I'm looking forward to my direct debits going onto my cc in Feb because it will bring my debt below £5k :)

Still haven't exchanged on our flat and our mortgage lenders are currently being difficult. Looks like they might not actually lend us the full amount :(
Hoping for more luck this week...

    Paid back : £700 / £2476
  • We got our mortgage offer! Finally. I can relax a teeny bit now. Just waiting for the sale of our flat to go through.
Broke my NSD plan today by buying cinema tickets for Tuesday night. £12 for tickets for my husband and I. My treat because at the moment he is driving me to and from the station everyday :)
Off to the gym straight from work tonight. I'm starting to get a cold but trying to ignore it in the hope it goes away!
Hopefully the rest of the week will be NSD's.
    4 days until pay day...

Congrats on the mortgage offer LMSTM! Such a relief when it all starts to come together!
Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭

  • Thanks both!! Very relieved - got the actual letter in the post today :)

I've made it to the end of the month with £11 in my account so I've transferred £10 to my holiday fund. It's pay day tomorrow finally!! Doesn't look like I'm getting a bonus though as nothing has been mentioned :(

I've had two NSD's this week but today I was naughty... I bought tickets to see The Killers in the summer at Hyde park. I've always wanted to see them live!

Being treated to a meal out tomorrow evening but no plans the rest of the weekend so no spending for me!

  • Sounds like you're going great guns LittleMiss!

Congratulations on getting the mortgage offer through the post. It's always such a relief to get it through!

OH was supposed to get a bonus end of Feb but a member of his team mucked up on a project so it's been put back to June. Bit of a pain as had hoped it would clear some of the credit card but it will be a nice bit to get in June :) I work for a charity to understandably I never get a bonus.

  • Thanks CMD!

Yeh we were told it would be in January pay. We are only talking like £300. We get it once a year.
This is the only job I've had where I've got a bonus but I was really counting on it to pay more debt off :(

  • So apparently I will still get a bonus. They are working it out and will pay it to us shortly :)

I'm off work sick today. It's been brewing for over a week but this weekend I've been really rough :(

I phoned up my cc to ask about balance transfers as my rate is ending at the end of Feb. I had £2750 on it so what I've done is transferred £2000 from that card into my bank account with a £30 fee and then I will use that money to pay off the first transfer :)
It's funny paying off a balance transfer with another one on the same card! The rate was only 1.5% so I'm glad I was able to do it :)

Still no news on the sale of my flat.everything has gone quiet. It's with my buyers solicitor. Such a long process :(
The sooner we sell our flat the sooner I can start paying more off on my debt! :/
