New fridge freezer - £30 to collect old one :-(

I put my old fridge/freezer outside and wrote scrap on the door with a felt tip pen for the local scrap man to take away, the cheeky barstewart cut the motor/compressor out of the bottom and left the carcass behind! i still had to pay the council to remove it and the gasses by then had been released to the atmosphere,should have rang them first,no saving in cost and no damage to the atmosphere.
