  • just a quick update. Sold a few bits this week. not doing too bad. made £66.64. I'm now struggling to find stuff, but i keep putting bits on as and when i find then.
    Nothing to declare ;)
  • Well done newmrslockwood :)

I've been surprised at the amount of small items I've been dredging out of drawers etc lol. Little things like teddy sewing motifs that I've had in my sewing box for about 15 years lol, well they went for £2.99 this week....so everything mounts up :)
I would really love to reach my 75% christmas tree level...but really having to search around for items to make up the additional £54 to get there.

Good luck everyone....you all seem to be doing brilliantly....I know for one that I wouldnt of put quite so much effort into selling my preloved ;) items if it wasnt for this challenge.

Well done all!! I think having the target levels help loads!! I am struggling also. My Mum n Dad found loads of stuff in the loft including a lindos keramik plate which i put on (thinking it was decidedly awful but what they hell id give it a go!) and its the first item to get a bid - hilarious! Love it when that happens!!

I have bought the telly this week and it was £52 over my budget - oops - so really have to make the cds etc I need to buy with pigsback vouchers.

Also bought the phone for £85 cash which was £15 under budget.

Just a tip - for any big items - if you have a costco card - have a loo all the time, things come in and out. The telly I bought was £150 cheaper there than the nearest anywhere else. Also a coffee machine I bought today was £52 - cheapest shop price £80 . Its fab for quality items for your money.

EDIT: Updated signature and thought it would come in at a lot less that 50% Don't think I'll make 75% but might make a special 66% level and try for two thirds [that means earning another £100 still - one big last push for this challenge!!]!!! :)

    Ok heres what I do.

    1. Look at all my stuff (Wed)

    2. Put into categories(Wed)

    3. Take photos of all (Wed)

    4. Upload pictures from camera to PC (Wed)

    5. Re-name all pictures so I know what I'm loading onto eBay later (Wed)

    6. Write a description in MS Word (perhaps Mon, Tue and Wed if I want to list on Thursday) - this way I can upload them all quickly on Thursday in the right time frame that I want - or use turbo lister - BEWARE it crashes lots! (Thur)
    7. List on the day I want to list by copying and pasting the text and uploading the picture (Sunday)

    8. Once 1 item is listed - click "sell similar" - it saves all your settings, postage etc. so all you need to do is replace your description, picture, title and category. (Sunday)

and BEST OF LUCK! Just do a bit a night. I've put suggested days to do things on in red ! I prefer to do everything in one go like that and get 30ish items listed on the one night. Others start things on diff nights, end them on diff nights, list 3-4 items per night - up to you how you do it, but thats my way :)

WELCOME! and GOOD LUCK! Look at our signatures for some inspiration! and think MONEY MONEY MONEY :money::T

  • You can do it ginga :)
I work in a simliar way to Jamtart.
I began by collecting all my bits and popped them into boxes...promising myself that I'd list a box a week. It worked I was able to break it down bit by bit rather than seeing lots in front of me and not knowing where to begin.
Some weeks I've listed more than the one box and others I've pushed myself to list it.

Good luck.....get on in there and sell, sell, sell and remember
the pennies make up the pounds......and they soon add up :)

Best of luck to you Sally - You haven't got far to go have you?! I really want to get to 75% but thats at least another £150 to sell. I will probably clear out my craft items again as they seem to do well and I have increasingly less time to make cards these days.... I've got lots of stuff to sell in next years challenge - but I think it will sell better spring/summer so will leave it until then..the first challenge there is selling £275 for the other half of this telly that is for my OH birthday!! YIKES!

  • Hello,

I just wanted to say thanks for the spreadsheet and the inspiration! I was aiming for bauble level and I've just got there! I'll probably be selling a few more bits before Christmas and I might try and reduce the budget a bit too, so I might report back in December if I get to 50%, but I'm pretty happy to have got to 25% anyway.
    CHRISTMAS BUDGET : £600
AMOUNT EARNT BACK ON eBay: £170.51
    TARGET LEVEL: 25% BAUBLE
    CURRENT LEVEL: 28%
