Haha dizzy the simple pleasures in life
Been to meeting with head / principle. Was a bit rushed and I'm very glad I took some work DD had done, as he seemed to take notice at that - he really studied it and said "I've taught yr3 children who can't construct sentences like this". I said "so perhaps you can see why I'm struggling to accept she's not meeting your literacy standard for reception?". He wants me to speak to her teacher again, but I've left the work with him - it had better not get lost! - and I'm going to wait and see what her report says unless they contact me first. There was then a parent / governer / school meeting that got very heated as he confirmed they are losing 70% of the teaching staff this summer
Ooo DD teacher just called, has apologised for being unclear and DD has met all her development goals (she did her report two weeks ago, which is before I spoke to her, when she told me she wasn't!!!).
So, as much as they air is cleared and ultimately DD isn't being marked down on anything, I'm still completely bamboozled as to what the heck they are doing at that school.
He assured me the 7 teachers scenario will not happen again.
Head is mashed! (My head, not the head teacher!)Bossymoo

Well spoken up Bossy
I'm worried about LW too.
Not much happening here. DH has put manmade fabrics in the TD on high heat  because he only listens to half of what I say, but at least he is managing to cook nice meals
I had to go back to the hospital this morning to get my dressing changed. I have slept most of the afternoon. Am keeping my foot elevated as much as possible, as per hospital instructions - the wound looks quite neat and there is remarkably little bruisingbut the painkillers make me drowsy.
I have folded washing and ironed a top.
Two books and a set of DVDs that I ordered on Friday were delivered today, so I ought to try to do some work soon.
Oh yes, and I walked upstairs in order to check my bank account on the PC.
A friend has just rung to say that she will come round to see me for an hour tomorrow morning :j
Back to Sudoku and Hanjie puzzles... (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed x0 -
Iona.. I gave up on painkillers after 3 days.. I had been given tramadol and I just wanted to sleep... I don't have time for that rubbish.. besides, it almost resulted in my dropping the baby while feeding.. not risking that.. why they couldn't prescribe something else is anybodys guess. Glad it all looks nice and is healing
Guess I should go make OH coffee for when he gets in.. he has taken Dot off to her friends birthday party.. Elsa and Olaf are there apparently.. so she is a bit pleased!
Pizza and salad for dinner for the others.. they love lazy dinners and eat more too!
washing off the line and folded
Twinkle fed and sleeping.. she has been awake nearly all day.
I'm going for lunch with my friend on Thursday.. best start looking for clothes that fit now!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Frizzle sorry for your loss.
- Floordrobe in bedroom cleared.
- Bed linen changed at w/e.
- All upstairs bins emptied.
- Did gardening this morning, never ending battle - why can't slugs eat weeds? Picking lots of strawberries now, just starting raspberries, loganberries and redcurrants. Snails appear to have devoured a lot of pea plants, so picked one crop but doubt any more will appear.
- Physio pleased with my shoulder. I'm allowed to go to pilates at the beginning of August, then body balance the next week then zumba. Physio is going to come up into the gym to work out a reasonable arm/shoulder/upper body routine. It seems to have been forever.
- went to M@t@l@n as it is opposite gym and got 2 tshirts reduced; had already chucked one tatty one last week not even fit for gardening. Also a new cheap swimsuit, ditto old one decluttered.
- had lunch (free drinks and reduced food) at garden centre, got a couple of birthday cards, wrote and posted.
- more in garden.
- now devoting evening to writing up the 2 latest assessments which I want to finish before we go away on Thurs.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Evening all,
Long day at work done (need to get used to these, as from next week I am going back to doing three full days instead of four shorter ones. This means more time at home while children at school, hooray!)
Also done dailies (nearly anyway, just going to mop the floor in a minute and Swish the sink and toilet), plus hoovered our bedroom and I have half tidied the kids room. They are meant to be doing it themselves for pocket money. I charged them 20 p each.
Bossy I'm very jealous re kitchen, hope it is fab! Glad you seem to have a bit of clarity re DDs progress.
dizzy , Another episode of Dizzyenders. Hope your toe is OK x

Evening all,
Day went totally to pot. Started with DH putting 30 litres of petrol in our DIESEL van at 8am  and me having to do a 40 mile round trip with small people still in pjs in rush hour traffic to drop off our fuel extraction pump (some of the lads who work for him are inept at fuelling up it seems, so we purchased this bit of kit a while ago. Thanks gawd we did!)
Then we went to visit my dear grandad. He hasn't been well for over a year (Alzheimer's) but today was the worst day he's had, including some aggression and hitting out. Children packed off to MiLs and me and grandma have spent the day with him at the hospital he has been admitted to. They have been wed 63 years, it's just heartbreaking to see.
Needless to say I'm exhausted, house is a hovel and my phone is on just in case they need me to go down in the night to calm him down.
If anyone has any spare biscuits or wine I would appreciate it. Oh and DH has done his back in (as you can imagine my sympathy is non existent at the present time)
Sorry for the selfish post, I'll catch up with all your news properly in the morning, night night ladies thanks for 'listening' xxMFW
