Thank you to Natty for last weeks thread.
Do not lose heart if you cannot keep up with everyone else or reading the thread, don't try to reply to everyone and please remember to include something about flying in all your posts.
Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer![/U]

Thank you for the list I'm in
Sooo glad it's the master bedroom tomorrow, our wardrobe needs a thorough gutting and the bedding needs a launder!
Well our lazy day didn't happen, we cleared out the garage and shed instead! They both look tons better though, I also scrubbed the decking and chucked a load of outdoor toys that had been making the garden look scabby and not been played with! Fling fling!
See you all in the morning ladies Xx ... oh b*llocks, I've forgotten to put the DW on. That'll be the first job at 6am....MFW

Thanks for the list Pigpen
I'd been planning on being in bed by now but at 10pm the dog decided to puke over his bed, the rug and himself _pale_ So that's been cleaned up the best I can, one half of the bedding stuff is washed through, the other half is in now, the rug & underlay is out on the line. The dog went for a bath at 10.30 :rotfl: He's now traumatised and sulking on the sofa. I'm sat here stinking of wet dog, dripping with sweat and wondering why on earth I bothered having a bath earlier or put the WM on a clean cycle!
I have a busy week on the calender this week, but I'm hoping to keep up with the flying. DD can pull her weight as well as I need to get my accounts done this week or they're unlikely to be done before she breaks up. I'm going to juggle the order of the lists this week to go with the priority for this house this week.
Personal:
M - Elect test 10am, Cut DD hair Remind DD to text ex Weekly shop
T - No school, order due
W -remind DD to text Ex-fil
T - DD at higher ed conference, 2.30 finish unless meeting friends
F - Make sure DD is sorted for Sat.
Sat - DD out all day
Laundry - dog stuff/bedding x 3 loads (need to do towels etc), Clean cycle, light, dark, bedding, towels, cloths, clean cycle
Av. book for D
Book dentists ( for last week of July)
Sort through charity pile (check for size 14 jeans)
Contact charity to collect stuff asap
Update Finances with Friday spends & chq
Sort budget for month.
Work:
Clear work books
Email about invoice errors - dig through this FY invoices to get all the errors
mas customer
Start doing invoice detailing on computer accounts record
Tax return / Tax credit renewal
Print calling sheet - Need to write new ones while doing accounts.

I'm hoping the electrical check goes smoothly as I want to get things done. However I know what this house is like, I can almost guarantee that it won't be simple. The man said 1 hour roughly, I'm predicting 2 :rotfl:
Well I'm shattered and the WM is nearly finished so I'm going to get sorted to go to bed. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning everyone - I am in. Both paid stuff today and I need to ring school to find out what is happening about the GCSE exam that DS2 was supposed to resit and didnt. Any advice about how to get a 15 yo at the end of year 10 to take school seriously and actually do some work welcome.
Nicki yuk, although I did laugh at the thought of the dog sulking on the sofa. My dog hates getting bathed too.
Right, on with the day. Our bedroom is part way through being redecorated but could do with a really good tidy so will fit that in somewhere!0 -
Thanks for listy Pigpen - I'm in again.
Got home at 12.15am and up again at 6am to get DH breakfast. He has decided to start the New Atkins diet, so muggings has to magic up suitable food for breakfast and lunch. HRH rolls up, eats, dictates a list of jobs that need doing and swans off to work. I am tired, ratty and have a headache...happy Monday...
On a positive note, Tiny is off to nursery again today, I get to choose some glasses as I'm admitting defeat and accepting becoming decrepit and the contents claim insurance money has arrived!!!0 -
Good Morning ladies,
DW and WM chugging away as usual. I have also WUDUPA, and I am about to strip our bed. We have some visiting to do this morning, then I am meeting a friend and her two littlies at a local pub for lunch - they have a great playground, and kids eat for £1 each on a Monday - bit of a no brainer really! Cheaper than soft play too!
Pork is out defrosting for tea.
Nicki - poor Zack I hope he is better today.
Biscuit Monster - hope today is a better day lovely. Being shattered and hungover with kids is torture - only about 3 weeks ago I had a vino too many and felt like !!!!!! warmed up all day long. longest day ever!
Bossy - positive kitchen fitting vibes coming your way x
Must also collect a Next order and buy some milk. Have lovely days all xx
ETA - Cross posted - Dizzy your mornings sound like mine. I practically hoof DH out of the door he drives me mad in a morning. Enjoy the Tiny-free time and WOOOOHOOO to the wonga xxMFW

Christening was lovely yesterday, all three little nieces looked gorgeous and I got a first cuddle with my newest 5 week old niece.

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Morning all.
WM on its second load, Zack spent the morning curled up with DD (most unlike him) and I overslept until 7am as I couldn't sleep last night.
Speaking of last night, I placed an order about midnight on Amaz0n and woke to an email saying my payment had been declined. Checked my bank account, updated my finances but all was in order. Chatted online with the bank and they said it wasn't at their end, so it must have been the website. I went on the website and for some reason they still had a bank card registered on it that I've not used since March last year and I swear I deleted it! So I've definitely deleted it, checked my payment details and updated the order. On the plus side I've got a few things checked off my daily list I don't usually have done by now, so silver lining and all that.
I need to get stuck in with some jobs, the first one now is going to be de-moulding the bathroom. There was a tiny patch in the corner by the shower on Friday, today it looks like it's not been touched in months! Then I need to get spraying the air freshener. The house stinks of wet dog, and then put stuff outside so that Zack can go in the yard while the electrician is here.
Just realised the time, I best get moving. Back to cross things off my list later :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I'm new, so please be gentle with me.
My house is currently mayhem. I'm trying to tidy, declutter, organise and decorate in one go and it's not going well. So I'm going to tidy and organise this week, tidy and decorate next week and just see what decluttering I get done along the way!
